    Laptop help

Alright, I got a DELL Inspiron 1525 for christmas, it was nice and everything, so I started it up and got everything installed and went to go to my email.

My email has numbers in it, and when I typed it, the numbers came out strange.

WHen I typed the number 1 and 2, it was an A with a tilda over it, thats a little line. Other numbers were O's and some were tildas and other weird symbols.

I call dell and talk to the Indians who can't be udnerstood, and they had me take apart the laptop, that did nothing and now I'm stuck.

I even hooked up ANOTHER keyboard through the USB in my laptop and even on another keyboard, the numbers on the top, above the letters did the weird symbols, but the right keypad on the keyboard I added worked.

If anyone can help me, it would be great.

Ive tried re-installing Vista, and various other methods.

    Try changing the language.
Make sure you have english on, and not some other one.

Open up Control Panel and switch to Classic View.

Double click on the icon that says Regional and Language Settings.

Switch to the Keyboard and Languages Settings tab and click Change Keyboards.

    You should get this window:

Now, if you don't have English (US, or whatever country you're from) click Add, and add it to the list. Make sure it is set to default, and remove any languages you don't want from that list.
