    Overclocking E4400 2.0GHz

    Howdy,

I've been looking into overclocking my current E4400 which runs stock at 2.0GHz and has everything stock. No special cooling or whatsoever. I'm really not much of a computer nerd but I'd like to give it a try, with you guys help. Please explain to me as easy as possible without giving me links to pages, I've looked everywhere but they all pretty much assume you've got some knowledge. Here's the specs in my computer:

    Motherboard: IP35-E
    Processor: E4400 2.0GHz
    RAM: 2 x 1 GB 800MHz DDR2
    Videocard: 8800 GTS

I did go into the BIOS and looked around and figured from what I've read I could change some of the below. I also downloaded programs to measure the heat of my processor and have been doing stress tests.
I've turned the multiplier to 10 x and then put it at 265MHz so it's running at 2.65GHz now. I've put the divider on 1:1 as well. That is ALL I have changed. No volts or anything else, just the MHz to increase the CPU speed and turned that divider to 1:1. Now, I've been doing a stress test with these settings for 3+ hours and it runs stable at 56-60 degrees Celcius. Is that too high? Can I some more settings?

If you've got some knowledge and are willing to help me out a bit, I'd appreciate that a lot! Please keep in mind I don't have a lot of experience with this kind of this but I learn fast : )

    Thanks in advance!

    Update:

I just overclocked it to 3.0GHz and it's actually running slightly cooler then at 2.65GHz, what the hell?

56-60 degrees is a fine temperature to run at.

PS. if your system is running stable at 3.0 GHz, I wouldn't increase it any further.

    Overclocking E4400 2.0GHz

Did a stress test at 2.9GHz for 9 hours overnight and it went fine, was at 56 degrees when I got up.

I went into the BIOS to OC it risk it nerd. All I did was put the multiplier to 10 x and the FSB to 290MHz + The divider to 1:1 (RAM).
