    Hey guys,

I've been wondering whether everyone would be interested in a turn-based strategy game tournament (like chess). The objective of the game is to destroy the opponent's pieces, and each piece has its own different abilities. There would probably be 16 (or 32) spots in the tournament, with the winner getting a Competition Winner rank. An RSGP prize may or may not be offered depending on how much interest there is. If there was to be a tourney, we'd all appreciate no resignations in interest of fair play... what do you guys think?

I really love this kind of game, and I would definitely participate. However, finding a game that everyone could access might be a bit difficult. Do you have one in mind already?

Aren't competitions supposed to be admin approved before promising a Competition Winner rank ?

I have admin approval from Govind, just wanted to see if people were interested before actually posting a tourney thread... don't want so many people to just resign like last time because it makes the tournament unfair.

Definitely! The tourney will be posted in the news section in a few days probably, but if you see this thread and would consider participating, please post so we get an idea of how many people are really interested!

I can do Chess, although what rules and such would apply? I know how all the pieces move and stuff, but I know there's a few special rules that advanced players have when playing.

I would assume whatever website/game client we play on would have preset rules, so you would have to check with the site/game before hand.

For this tourney a game is already settled, but we can definitely do Go and chess in future tourneys, hit this thread or pm me with more ideas if you want.

Is there a reason you are waiting to post what game it is?
Probably just so people don't go practice right now right?

When the comp thread gets posted, everyone will have a 2-3 days to practice before the tourney starts.
