Need images converted to transparent .tga (TARGA)

I've been trying forever to make the background transparent instead of white like it defaults to when I save it from Photoshop to .tga file.

If anybody could do this I would be forever in your debt, maybe if I have something you're interested in that isn't directly money please let me know and I'll see what I can do to help you out in return.

While I appreciate the link, it's definitely useful but I have a very old version of photoshop, and if there happens to be a way to make the alpha channel for the transparency I cannot for the life of me figure out how.

What CS do you have?

In more modern ones, CS4 onwards you can do things like this http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1432579 with an alpha channel. You should potentially consider upgrading Photoshop then or take your problem to someone like Jiwi or what-not who no doubt would be happy to accommodate.
