How do I edit an mp3 clip?

I bought an album off of the iTunes store and the first 2 songs are meant to run into one another, without a break. At the end of the first song however, there is about 2 seconds of the song that is blank, and then the second song starts. This doesn't happen with one of my other albums that does the same thing, so how can I go about editing out those 2 seconds to make the song transition seamless? Any help would be appreciated.

By the way, the songs are Indigo and The Obsessive Devotion, by Epica.

    Download link is here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/

    Step 1
Download Audacity from the Audacity at SourceForge website. Audacity is available on PC, Mac and Linux platforms. Be certain to download the platform appropriate for your computer. Install Audacity on your computer.

    Step 2
Decide what way it is exactly you want to edit your MP3 files with Audacity. You can speed up, slow down, remove white noise, insert and remove portions of the file and even change the bit rate. Make a list of the tasks you wish to complete during the editing process.

    Step 3
Open Audacity. From the "File" menu, select "Open." Navigate to the first MP3 file you want to edit. Select the file and click the "Open" button.

    Step 4
Highlight the section of your MP3 file you want to edit. If you want to edit the entire file, press "Control" and "A" on your keyboard.

    Step 5
Edit the MP3 file by selecting the appropriate option from the "Edit" or "Effect" menu.
