Need help with trade

Hey guys i just traded with the user Cactus, i vouch for him and he is legit cause he gave me all info, but i have one problem

After he told me pass and i logged in and got email change, he logged out of msn and i forgot the pass!

Now the account is registered to my email but i don't know the pass and he is offline and i dont know what to do. I remember half the password? What are my options??

Please guys try to help me, i don't know if ill be able to get a hold of this user again. My msn doesn't save chat logs but is there any way to get them? or to find what was copied into the clipboard before? since then i have copied other things and the password is removed from clipboard...

 

If the account has YOUR e-mail registered, just click on 'Forgotten Your Password?' and recover it from there.

 

can't he never gave me the secret answer, its which city where you born in, and i can't sit here guessing can i?

 

Well, try recovering the account, since the email is registered to you, it should be an easy recovery.

And you really should screenie account trades, if he recovers you'll have proof to get him banned. Otherwise you might be a sitting duck.

I Keep all pictures from account trades no matter what. Even if its 5 years from now i'd still have them.

And you dont need that, the email is enough.

 

wow now pictures i don't have, but i do trust him becuase he gave me password and all info, i was just too stupid not to paste it into a notepad, he allowed me to change email too and i remember the last half of the password. I cant recover without secret answer, im just wondering if anyone here is close with Cactus and can contact him urgently

you guys all keep saying email is enough but it wont recover my password? please tell me how email is enough because when i click recover it sends a code to my email and then i needa type code in on steam and the answer to which city where you born?

 

I really suggest you taking screenshots no matter what, even if hes trusted or not.

PM him and wait till he replys, i have never seen a "cactus"

Trust me, the way your doing your trades , you have a high risk fo getting scammed.

Always ask for a PM on Sythe, Trade ONLY with people on Sythe that are reputable. ALWAYS take screenshots, even if they are a Mod.

Follow those steps next time.

I have the gutsy feeling he may recover the account back. And the email is usually enough, seems like its not. Contact him through PMS and wait, thats all you can do.

 

ugh i have and check this out guys this is the guy claiming to be his brother asking for 4mill RS or $10 or else he wont give me password again and is telling me i might have to wait a couple of days... How would i go about recovring my account back then? if hes changed the email of the one i gave him... -.- this is really annoying me now

Just go to steam sales section and his thread is clearly there, where i even vouched for him before i forgot password. He has 33 posts.

 

Recover your account/forgotton password is the only thing you can do.

 

So no one here knows Cactus? and now i just sit and wait for him to reply if he ever does. And i have a feeling this guy is not his brother why is he asking me to pay $10 to get a password i should already have!

 

Don't give that person anything, you said it yourself, why would his 'brother' require money or RSGP to keep you a password he probably doesn't have?

If you are on windows vista or windows 7, press start and type in the first few letters of the persons email, there might be a chat log saved in a discreet location, it's worth checking.

Otherwise, just hope he comes back online, although it is possible he has scammed you and given you invalid information.

 

No no, i think some of you misunderstood. I was given the pass, i logged in and with that pass also changed email. I did not write down the pass and lost it in the clipboard. After the trade he instantly logged off, and i closed chat box. This then meant there was no way for me to know the password. When i came to change password it required the old password. This is when the problem started. Now i can't get on the account at all because i still don't know the pass and since then have logged out. The account is still verified onto my email address meaning he hasn't tried to scamm me. The only reason i made a post was to ask for a way to change the pass faster without requiring the security question. Which i realise now is not possible.

So im just waiting.
