To those with a GPS - Must read!

When going to a public location such as walmart, dinner to eat with the family, movies, etc. make sure you place your GPS in your glovebox out of sight. A little story will explain why,

In February I drove my family to the movie theatre in a nearby town, about a 30 minute drive. After the 3 hour visit I returned outside and began looking for my ford diesel truck. I was almost sure I knew where I had parked it. After a half hour of searching, literally, I went to the mall police and we watched the security footage together. The footage was more of like a slideshow, every 3 seconds a new picture.

A guy with a blue hoody was walking down the isles of parking spaces a row over from me whenever I had parked my truck. He watched us walk all the way until we were inside the theatre then pulled a small hammer and screwdriver from his hoodie and broke into my truck. You cant see clearly in the video but you know he turned some electronic on that showed up perfectly in the video, I recognized it as my GPS. Then my beloved truck pulled away from the crime scene. Or what I thought was the scene.

After filing a police report and riding a cab back to my house, we pulled into my driveway. My truck was sitting the driveway. We called the police immediately. They searched the house first with our permission and then called us in. The thiefs had used my GPS to backtrack our route to my home. Yes I had my truck now, but the thieves had enough time between us watching our movie and filing a police report to wreck our house and steal two flatscreen TV'S, Jewlery, Guns, Money, Tools, My dime sack (yeah, they went to the extent of stealing another mans weed).

Bringing a long story to an end, a GPS can really fuck you over if your not careful. Our property still hasnt been found.

Moral of this story, use maps provided on the iPhone as a means for directions.

On a serious level, I'm astonished they went through so much trouble just to ransack your house. After all they stole it still wasn't the value of the truck. I'm surprised they left that.
