    Poor Image Quality? Need Help

Alright, I have a little issues. For my Signatures i am using GIMP. How ever when i go to save the image. It won't let me upload it onto sites like tinypic or Image shack because it it is a ".xcf" File. but if i save it as a .jpg, or a .gif the image quialty is poor...

I need help please and thanks..

The signatures you make can be made in MS Paint. Stop "making" cool sigs for people and read some tutorials on how to make real sigs...

And also get rid of the GIMP...

There's nothing wrong with GIMP, I prefer it over PhotoShop.

XCF is the native image format for GIMP, and you can use Xcftools and get PNGs from those, but I don't see what your problem is to begin with as you haven't explained what you mean by poor image quality.

Well in photoshop you can save it with decent quality even in jpg... You just have to pick "high" quality..

And I'll have to say "Photoshop" all the way!

Photoshop has quality control, so when you save things you can optimize for best file size / quality, depending on what you want..
You should try photoshop express if you can't get photoshop.
Photoshop express is free, and can be found here:

Everyone! Stop hatin on GIMP! It's a good program and can be even better than ps (lol) if you know how to use/get the right plugins!

And I'm sure there is a plugin for GIMP that allows you to save images as .png's

Everyone needs to stop saying PS > GIMP, or trash GIMP, blahblahblahblahblah.

Anyway, what you are doing wrong is saving in the wrong format. Try saving it as PNG.

.Png is a good file to save it as because it does not loose quality as people save it unlike Jpg.
