Need help with xbox

I did a RROD fix on an xbox 360. Pretty standard ive done it plenty of times. Except on this xbox when i press the power button to do the towel trick to trip the censor to see if my fix worked or not, the thing does not get hot. This xbox will sit and flash 3 rings for hours on end and not raise a single degree in temperature. I need to towel trick this xbox and without heating up its impossible.


Ideas/suggestions?

 

if the fan isn't turning on at all your power brick might be burnt out.
that happened to me.. I sent it in to get repaired because it was under warranty, and it came back and still RROD.
That led me to conclude it was the power brick, microsoft provided a new one under warranty and it's all good now

If your fan does turn on though, you might want to send it in if it's under warranty... if it's not just crack it open and tighten down the xclamp screws.

 

My latest RROD was faulty DVD drive... swapped it to other and RROD was gone.

 

I just heard the towel trick will break your xbox even more after.

 

You've probably towel tricked it out, it's actually really bad for the Xbox.

 

The towel trick is probably the worst thing you could do for your xbox 360 There is many reasons you can get the THREE RROD, some of them include, software issues, DVD drive issues, etc. Do you know how the rings flash when you do a reset? if can give me more information to let you know which problem it is (source - i used to fix xbox 360s all the time)

 

it will fix it for about a month, then be worse

everytime my xbox gets rrod i have to replace the heatsinks and put it back together
