    you just have to push yourself. GO to the gym, once your there its easier, you get through it. buy the food you need, cook it. it's baby steps. gotta start somewhere. go to the gym once a week until you go more. best way i can suggest is: just start somewhere

    Just do it simple as that, once you start seeing results you will be more motivated to keep at it, remember after 21 days it becomes a habit

    How to get motivated to work out & in general?

    This helped for me when I was going through a tough time: try something new.

    I had a small group of kind of friends that I'd hang out with during school only. But around sophomore year, I decided I was sick of being that way, so I decided to try some new things. I tried ultimate frisbee, golf, a couple clubs on campus, etc. I even went to a pickup soccer game where I knew literally no one. But hey, it was something new. I found out that I love ultimate frisbee, and no matter where I go, I will always find some form of solace in the sport.

    As for lifting, you don't have to look the best. you don't have to lift the most. What you should do is lift the weight you can, with the best form you can, as consistent as you can. Don't feel like you can lift as much as you normally can? Use that as motivation.

    The real issue I found is not that there is some internal issue, it's your attitude about your issue. If you approach the situation like there is an issue, and you listen to what people say, it will start to get to you. You'll start to withdraw, and create an issue for yourself. What you should do it get back out there, find some things to do outside. Ever wanted to go hiking? Maybe canoeing? Maybe theater? Who knows, but try something new. And do your best to take a whole new approach to this. Instead of seeing this as an issue, see this as an opportunity to find some new life passions. Maybe you'll find that you love collecting stickers, you never know what life has in store for you :p

    Always had trouble with motivating myself to actually work out for me it was a really simply solution: I started to went to a gym which costs $50/month. That's too much money to not go :p. So now I hit the gym 2-3 times a week atleast.

    I've found motivation is someone that is really cocky/annoying. I just want to be able to look better than them, or smack them upside the head if they act like that to me.

    Assuming you're serious and you'll check this even though you're banned.
    Deadmou5e has it on point. I've been going the gym about 3 years now (more of you include the inexperienced times when I didn't know what I was doing) but there's still days I say "fuck I don't want to go" bit I just walk there anyway and once you're there, you're all of a sudden motivated to work out, it's weird.

    Just go and ask the guy/woman on the counter or anyone who works there and they're often really nice and will help with anything.

    For when you're already at the gym but would rather sit around instead of working out, use your failures to motivate you. Think of all the times you sat there and thought "man I wish I started working out", "I'm so out of shape", etc. Now that you're in the position you so wanted to be in when you were failing - why not take advantage of it?

    Strive to look better than somebody you hate or somebody who thinks they are better than you in any way. Take your frustrations out in the gym and you'll end up looking the bomb.

    A simple way to counter laziness is to just force yourself. Even when I really don't feel like going to the gym, I find myself working out once I arrive.
