    need help with installing a desktop environment on ubuntu vps
    Tried a lot of stuff but i keep running into errors.
    i used this guide; How to Install and Configure VNC on Ubuntu 16.04 | DigitalOcean

    ssh -L 5901:127.0.0.1:5901 -N -f -l root server_ip_adress
    after trying to connect i get "
    bind: Address already in use
    channel_setup_fwd_listener_tcpip: cannot listen to port: 5901"

    I am not an IT professional in anyway so dont kill me when I say something incredibly stupid, but have you tried to 5901 port to something different?

    need help with installing a desktop environment on ubuntu vps
    i actually just tried that and it didn't give the error. but when i connect to a vnc i just get an empty page and the desktop environment doesnt seem to work :(

    Make sure that there is not already a VNC service running, your port is already in use.
