WoW Faction Changes on the horizon - Your opinon?

What's your oppinion on the confirmed, upcoming faction change? Yep, you are going to actually be able to switch from Alliance to Horde, or visa versa.

In my view, it cheats the Warcraft lore in a way and doesn't bring that same feeling when you begin and create a character. The loyality your supposed to show by choosing one side and sticking with it right till the bitter end - it will be ruined. The RPG side of the game is seemingly becoming less and less like an RPG should be with all of these sex changes, name changes and now faction changes.

What really bewilders me, is why you cannot change your own alliances faction? Surely this is more plausable to beleive (under controlled conditions) as you are sticking with your side - and it may salvage some of the RPG elements that we will loose with faction changes.

On the other hand, I can understand this. After all, WoW is a business product. It is there too make money more than pleasing a minority of players, the majority of players will like this- I assume. And props to Blizzard for having a smart business tactic like this.

In conclusion, all I can say is - when will the PRE-TBC servers be released?

This is the most ridiculous idea Blizzard has ever thrown at us. It completely destroys the point of initial character creation, PVP, and the game itself.

Ahh I'm glad somebody agrees! Yeh as I said, how can anyone possibly feel the sense of loyality and vigourous choice when choosing their faction? It's just going to be gone, and the thing is: making that choice was one of the things that made the original WoW experience for a newcomer so epic and enjoyable.

Black Dragonflight is about to go down the drain. With many popular Horde players, and an already Unbalanced Horde to Ally Ratio Allies will be done for within a month of this release.... Anyone else about to get bent over?

 

No fucking way, this is probably going to fuck over the balance on plenty of realms, and it's just because of the stupid kids on Alliance wanting to be a Blood Elf or something. Obviously Blizzard is being their Jewish selves and going to charge for it.

Stupidest idea ever, soon you'll be able to buy your way to level 80 legitimatel.

 

I asked a GM about this a few weeks a go and apparently this MAY happen but probably not. I wanted it due to getting TBC and wanting to reroll alliance shammy so I could play with all my mates.

Now that I think about it, if it became a widely used service it'd ruin the game, both the 'RPG' side of it and all the alliance kiddies would switch to horde ;|

 

Please don't let those 12 year olds into my faction :'(

Faction changes+Realm Changes....Only maybe a cost of 50$?I like the idea for Players to change Factions But I can imagnie the Procress to Change factions..Rep changes,Mount changes,Racial changes,Rep rewards.Achievements...The List goes on..

 

Fuck the Alliance. Seriously though, this idea is just 100% profit for them. I don't want to play with no alliance kiddies.

No doubt there'll be a $25 charge or something. Clearly just another scheme to make money that bypasses and ignores quality of the game.

I was joking... My highest WoW account is only level 25. I only enter raids occasionally.

 

If your highest WoW toon is 25, you've never been in a raid. :laugh:

 

See I don't even understand anything haha. What's a battleground sort of thing? Sorry for misusing these terms. I am a noob hahaha. (I feel much more at home with runescape.)

Raids=those groups with the level 80s?

 

Raids are groups larger than 5 people (10, 25, 40). You only start to raid until 60, at molten core and (then) Naxxramas.

 

I think this whole "faction change" is Blizzard realizing the game is dying.

There's coming new, and most likely better games out after the summer, and Blizzard is just trying to make as much money as they can, while they still can.

I think this is actually going to happen, and I don't really think it will take that long before they implement it.
