Is this true? So I've heard...

Well, I was walking to red chinchompas about to start my bot up. A guy started talking to me so I used the bot and talked to him at same time so I didn't look suspicious. There was him and another guy. The guy told me that the other guy was botting cause he wouldn't talk, etc. So I agreed. Well this guy tells me that Jagex is creating a new "bot detection" thing tomorrow and that there will be a system update. He told me that after that system update all(or most of) botters will be banned via this new "bot detection". Well of course I didn't believe the guy. Then another person comes up to the chinchompas and starts laying their traps down. Then the guy who told me about this new "bot detection" started talking to him like he knew him because he said his real name on runescape. Well what do you know, it's a PMOD. I continued the bot detection conversation to see what the mod had to say about it, and he tells me that he doesn't know nor does he have that type of information.

The guy PM's me and says something similar to the lines of "Hey that mod is my friend irl and he does know about the new bot detection happening tomorrow, i'm on the phone with him now and he told me not to tell anyone else about it so please dont tell anyone."

I really wish I would have screen shotted it, but I turned my private to friends and hopped worlds so I could bot without having to stare at runescape. I didn't even think about taking a screenie at that time.

So, it is true or fake?

    My opinion:
FAKE. Even though there is a PMOD there, whom knows the other guy IRL, doesn't mean that this will really happen. The player could have easily made that up knowing that his PMOD friend was on the way to scare me/others perhaps? Also, jagex is not and probably never will ban the botters. There will not be a mass ban that big as the guy was assuming. Jagex would lose hundreds of thousands of dollars. We all know why Jagex won't do a mass ban on us botters, so I won't go in-depth on that.

Let's hear your opinion on this. Because if a system update DOES occur tomorrow, Im'a be scared to bot without getting banned.

Personally I think Jagex can't beat us. We will bot and possibly get banned, but rsbots.net and many other bot sellers will find a way around it, we always have and we always will. Just keep your heads up. There's always a way around banning systems.

Yes I completely agree. It's funny that the people programming these bots and clients are smarter than the employees of Jagex.

The Jagex employees are only worried about their pay checks. As are botting companys, so they MUST find a way around it, otherwise they get no profits. See how it works? ;) God I love this community!

Totally agree, Jagex puts no love into the game anymore, it's all about their next pay day.

They wouldnt give information that big to pmods. Of course they know some pmods bot im sure.

    Jagex wont ever beats bot.

Jagex's ban/detection system evolved, the bots evolve, it evolves again, the bot evolves. Its a never ending cycle ;)

ok so... they change banning from perm to 14-21-then perm, but yet there going to do a bot detection, which god knows how much thats going to cost, just to ban people for 14 days..? im kinda lost. botter always win anyway, get banned for botting, come back botting again, get ip banned, change ip and come back. its just a waste of time and money for them lol.

I love Runescape players! "Botters always win" Are you serious? They won't mss ban? Really? You know what happen when players get bots banned? They start 1, 2, 3 more. They gain money for banning players! You buy 1 or more months of members they ban you with 2 weeks or more game time. You start another account and buy more game time you are paying for 2 or more months and using 1 and a half.

Next time you think you are winning a fictional war against a gaming company like Jagex Blizzard or EA. you should check the bank accounts of the people you won against. They make these games worse every patch because you think you are "winning". real fact is everyone get a worse game (Trade limit, wild gone, easier levels and worse players at higher levels) cause you "win" this so called competition.

Now I am not saying don't bot. Not saying don't play or buy gold. I have done them all. but when you think about this HUGE "win" you have under your belt. Try to remember that runescape used to be a real fun game. Hang with friends show your abilities off, loan a friend a few gold to buy something cool new and exciting!

Since WE "win" so much now and arz soooo k000lz the game formally known as Runescape has been erased from time. We are now left with a bunch of botted accounts that we cant sell the gold off, a game that is not multiplayer but solo unless PvP and the overall "fun" we used to have is now all about who has botted the longest without being caught.

Imagine the "old" Runescape without the horrible updates and with all of the good ones. Old Runescape but with the updated FX.

Yeah we "won" alright! A game people used to be addicted to cause it was fun to play. Now we have bots on every computer and a rune world filled with greed.

Eaxactly, my brother used to be a pmod and he didn't hear anything along the lines of things like this. But if I remember right, I think there was a forum for pmods or whatever, but I'm sure Jagex wouldn't release information like that on there.

    "Hi,

As Mod Emilee isn't in the office today I wanted to let you all know that we are not planning to put out a game content update this week - but that there may be a system update later on in the week for some game-engine changes.

    Thank you,

    -Mod Knox"

Detection would be a game engine update, not a content update.

That aside, every time I've heard a pmod talk about bot detection they clearly didn't have any idea what they were talking about.
