Thoughts on Hybrid Armour

Hey guys, I was wondering what your thoughts were on the level 85 hybrid armor that Jagex is supposed to release this month in Runescape. Please don't post here just for post count. Real thoughts and comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

I honestly think it's lame. I don't like the idea of it. I like bridding how it is. I tri-brid, and do just fine. I haven't read much bout' it. It seems that this might be another path leading to another game change. Just my small opinion.

 

I think it is overhyped and will not be used much as it will either cost too much to risk or have poor stats

 

Runescape really has strayed so far from the old self. Looks like they are finally putting the last nail in the coffin for the combat triangle lol.

Though maybe it just turns out to be gimmicky armour or too expensive to be risked, who knows

 

I thought that you aren't going to be able to buy it, since I read that you will be able to acquire it from different minigames.

There are rumors of Jagex also releasing a dragon crossbow, warhammer, and kiteshield. Before that, they have to even out the combat triangle first by making range less powerful, as it is too powerful, and by making mage more powerful, as it is underpowered, at the moment.

 

Its probably over hyped, even though it has a lev 85 cb req I doubt it will be stronger than the current equipment

 

I think that if it's good, everyone will bitch because it takes the skill out of bridding and if it sucks, no one will care. That's about how it goes with Runescape these days.

Wait, its a level 85 COMBAT Requirement? Or is it level 85 attack, strength, defense, range, and magic?

 

85 in the specific stats I believe, could be wrong though.

 

Yes it is from minigames but cost can be measured in time, not just price. Ex. Void. Btw jagex said they would release dragon crossbow 2 years ago

 

I hope a dragon crossbow comes out, I'm sick of this crap ass rune crossbow. >.>

 

Mage is defiantly not underpowered. With wolpertingle/asn/chaotic staff I've barrage can hit over 400 easy. + with zuriels and miasmic re speed of melee is halved, I've killed people fighting in edgvill without farcasting, Mage bs melee. Sure Mage is supposed to beat melee, but when ur not farcasting and u win vs claws or an ags, it shows it's not underpowered.

OT: the armor seems cool, but I'm sure jagex will screw it up somehow, whether it's the cost/time it takes to get/stats of it.

 

Not everyone has high summoning and dungeoneering for those stuff, and I could spend less time training range and melee and hit better than that. They should make mage stronger, in the sense that it can hit higher without all that extra stuff.

 

* Jagex stated that they are planning to make a dragon weapon out of every weapon known on their official youtube channel on their comment section (can currently be found on the 1st page), this is the direct quote:
"artgeek12583 - We have plans to make a Dragon version of each weapon, however they are all in various states of development so we have no ETA for any of them. Rest assured that if we do introduce any into the game they will be well publicized, as such an important item would deserve. "

lmao Suitably epic way of adding it to the game? The fuck, what kind of bullshit is Jagex trying to pull here.

 

I wish jagex would work on other areas of their game instead of new armor. And what I mean by that is the BAR thread and unbanning my main

 

Oh my god..i bets its going to be like some ugly armour that needs to be charged and stuff.

 

A hybrid armour would really mess up the wilderness.

Brids won't need to switch and it will be pointless. Void is the closest thing to hybrid armour at the moment, with one armour switch for the effect.

I don't agree with range being overpowered and mage being underpowered.

More and more mage tanks are coming into the game now.

Chaotic staffs/streams/arcane spirit shields with virtus & wolpertinger means 500+ with barrage.

2 hitting anybody in game with mage? Not to underpowered.. especially when most people use armour so it hits EVERY time.

As for range, with the absorbing its become a lot worse, as rune alone gives 21% range absorb.

I think melee/mage are currently the most overpowered, and range need to be increased.

 

It kind of defeats the purpose of switching which is so much of hybriding. I don't really like it imo.
