Need help creating a hook for my essay..

I'm writing a research paper regarding how Capitalism is a superior economic system compared to Socialism.

I need help creating a hook for it. I have the whole paper done, I just need something good to grab the readers attention.

I'd need to see the first few lines you have on the essay. But here's some ideas.

"Capitalism, as anyone who's viewed the various economic systems has seen, is a much more superior system then Socialism."

"Capitalism, our present system, is a superior system to that of Socialism."

If you can provide me with some of the first lines in the essay, I'll help more.

 

Make some sort of patriotic shpeal about how the founding of one of the greatest countries was based on capitolism.

"throughout history, with each passing empire, so passes as well their respective economic system. the creation and application of capitolism allowed the US to become the economic powerhouse that it has been since the early 1900's, and continues to fulfill that role today"

some bullshit I made in about 30 seconds.

if anything, you might be able to win your audience over by..

giving a persuasive comparison of how capitalism economically /wins over socialism. or, in another stance, state how socialism is worse off in a society, with some witty pun, or play on words.

in my writing class, that's always what get's em.

Well what he said also states what the paper is going to be about. Throw in a sentence before revealing what the paper is about to grab the readers attention right off the bat. >_>.

 

Like I said, I'd need to see the first few lines of the essay. I don't know his writing style, I just gave him two ideas that would work. They aren't the best or anything.

If I could see his writing style, I could modify it to match how he writes and still be creative, but making an overly creative sentence start a, lets say poorly written paper for example, wouldn't make much sense, and his teacher would defiantly see that he got the line elsewhere.

 

Something along these lines, state why it is, and back it up state good points about it and state opposite points about the opposite.
