Im in the process of selling my website to a few third parties. My site is http://www.textsurprise.com. They are asking for what my bottom line is. Can you guys give me an idea of what the site might be worth?

Im interested in selling the script, not the domain/site. The code is 100% unique.

i dont think it is the code they want no affence but i could code that site my self in a few days. it is the domain they will want as that is carring all the traffic.
selling that website i would say £50-200 depend on how goog the coding is have you used class functions est.
the domain well they can sell for alot if you have good traffic!

yes 50k the domain apple.co.uk apple offered the guy 50k for the domain but he said no lol he wants more.
noramlly for a domain you are looking at £100-5000 all depend on the name and traffic and how much they want .

No offence, but you have no clue how to auto detect a cell phones carrier, or then proceed to send a text to a phone from ANY email address, not just a servername. Trust me, find a site that does exactly what this site does. I havnt found one.

 

mate no offence again but i have made webiste in php for univeristy daperments for big compnays charitys and none profitable organisations i work on a few opensource projects too.
i know what i am doing! If i could be arsed i could have a site like this up in about 2 weeks.
no offence again but the resion i don't is besause it is going to be very hard to sell!
i will stick to my lovely hourly wage.

if you are good at php or this may be a script i dont know then i suggest you start doing some freelancing load of money in that form £10-£25 an hour i charge depends on the custmor is it a charity est.

p.s i dont just code php but i code basic (for microproccessors) visual basic and only a bit of c# though i am learning lua at the moment that should be fun

Not that often I see people like you, with 99% of bloggers I see basically being ignorant. I don't doubt your abilities. What kind of designer, web design?

 

lol me too i hate it when i do something and some one comes on and say this and that when they dont have a clue what they are talking about lol
yer a web designer i may be getting a few jobs in soon. i am looking at freelanceing or have a partership with a web desinger.
Though i had a idea how to sell your site may be you should sell you code to exsisting websites that need something like that.
or
change it to some kind of mass text message sending code like a text newsletter i dunno lol

As the first replier said, the buyers are looking for traffic and revenue stats, which comes with SEO/Page rank. Reason being, search engine ranking isn't something they can control (to an extent), so if you're site is already indexed well, they can cross one of the hardest and tedious tasks of starting a website off.

I'm not sure what you'd get for you SMS script, but there are a few other free online SMS services out there. I don't see how your one is different to theirs, but hey, I don't know much about your script.

I can send a text from any email. If you find a site like that let me know, i havnt been able to find one. I want to find competition.

 

Considering text messages are just compressed e-mails, I'd imagine it's all about simply changing the headers... which isn't difficult at all.

There's just not really a need for it, ever. The only reason you may want to have the e-mail is for replies, but you could do that with any arbitrary e-mail.

It's a nice script, and I would quote you a ROUGH $30 for the script. That's if you can find a buyer who doesn't have custom demands and such. Selling scripts isn't easy anymore with freelance sites.
