I recommend watching a lot of youtube guides for now and essentially nothing beats firsthand experience

Dungeoneering can be hard to grasp at first. When I came back to RS 6 months ago, I had no idea what Dungeoneering was and I put it off for a few months before I even attempted it.

At first Dungeoneering just seems like a whole other world inside RS, and to me it felt kind of "pointless", like I really did not understand what the objective was or what exactly I was doing. After you get the hang of it though, Dungeoneering is actually one of the most fun skills in Runescape, and the rewards are phenomenal!

I would reccommend checking out some of the better guides on YouTube for absolute beginners, that include all the information you seek. Here is a decent one that took me 2 mins to find:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would highly reccomend that you learn the basics of dungeoneering. Such as:

    - How to create/join a party, enter a dungeon, and keep track of your floor progress

    - The different floor themes (Frozen, Abandoned I & II, Furnished, Occult, Warped etc) and the types of monsters/bosses you encounter in each theme.

    - What to do INSIDE the dungeon, what skills can be utilized, how to use the Smuggler in the starting room & strategies for beginning a new dungeon

    - The "concept", or basically what your objective is when you are inside a dungeon (finding keys, clearing guardian rooms, opening doors, solving puzzles, gathering food, preparing for the boss battle etc)

    - The different roles that you can play within a team, which worlds to go to find teams & how to advertise what you need so you can find a team

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Try to learn these things by watching/reading guides, and then doing some solo dungeons by yourself just to mess around. If you can find a friend to be your mentor and take you through a couple dungeon runs, that would be great too. But learn these concepts for yourself before you go out and try to join teams. After you kind of get the hang of things, joining a team is much easier and you will be a much bigger asset to the team once you have a bit of basic knowledge.

Also - try checking out this article on the Runescape Wiki to read about all the basics of Dungeoneering... anything from the different skills that you can use inside the dungeons, to the different roles players can play within teams, and dungeon slang/dungeoneering terminology, the different floor themes, how to customize your Ring of Kinship, and most important - the rewards that make Dungeoneering such an important skill within Runescape.
