Message from all Hardcore Fans to everyone who thinks hxc is bad

Ok, i'm just going to have a bit of a rant, i believe this view represents most hxc listeners.

Hardcore (known too the public as screamo or emo) is an acquired music taste. Alot of you hxc listeners will know that a lot of people think hxc is shit. I find the majority of people who say this stuff BARELY listen to music and they will listen to main stream music. If ever my friends say hxc is shit i usually reply back with "well what music do you like?" i rarely get a serious reply and if i do it'll be something like eminem or linkin park. Thing is, people who dont listen to much music listen to these bands, I usually follow up by saying, what songs/artists do you listen to that havent been on the radio/tv. I never get a reply.

Thing is, these people dont listen to music whenever they can or oftenly and they never venture out from main stream.

Another thing i say to people when they say hxc is shit is that "there not mainstream, they play music because they like it not necessarily for money" i often get a reply " the reason there not on the radio is because there shit" thing is, do you think hxc bands try to make the most money when they scream? Screaming is basically an instant ban of the radio cause all the little peasents dont like it and it hurts their ears. hxc artists play music because they like it and not for the money, alot of bands on the radio today dont even write their songs nor the lyrics.

How people like hxc, i've found the majoirty of hxc listeners start at soft rock (mainly mainstream rock) and then they move their way up, getting less mainstream the harder it gets. Until you get up to somewhere around deathcore/metalcore/deathmetal. Thing is, i dont like deathcore/metalcore/deathmetal but i know i probably will in a year. People wont start liking hardcore if they have never heard of post-hardcore or hard rock, it's just not gonna happen.

So if you're one of those people who run around saying hxc is shit then keep your words to yourself, hxc fans could easily rip apart your favourite songs.

I didn't say I was right, I said hxc doesn't appeal to a large group, and that i find most of the people saying it's crap don't listen to music. And yea, some mainstream bands are allright eg. SS. And is this not tune analysis?

Stuff like BMTH and ETF are mainstream because of all the scene boys and people who think their listening to hxc when there listening to garbage.

 

Hardcore sucks anyways, its pussies death metal. They try to be all hard and shit but its not really hard, its just fast heavy punk with some shitty vocals.

You can't fight ignorance with ignorance. Don't generalize people if you expect not to be generalized. Honestly I could name 50-100 bands that I listen to on a daily basis that I find better than hardcore. Old school hardcore was a ton better, when it didn't have the obvious metal influences, Black Flag, DOA, Dead Kennedys, early Beastie Boys, Bad Brains, etc. It was there first and was much better off..

I never understood why people think it's so cool and different to listen to bands that aren't really heard on the radio. Like I listen to them too, I just don't try and brag to people about it and label music I don't like as mainstream. These are the people that also tend to be a jerk and never want to tell you a song name you like as if it is their precious gem being kept secret.

I listen to plenty of unheard of emocore bands, but I don't try and brag about it. If these bands were on the radio and went huge I'd still listen to them.

I used to listen to your version of "hardcore" and I look back and think of what a homo I was thinking I was all cool and shit. That music is terrible, you can't understand 2 words the singer is saying and if he does try to actually sing, they sound like shit.

 

I dont think I know one person who listens to JUST hardcore. As a matter of fact, I can't think of one band who has ONLY hardcore songs.
In high school I was like you, I only liked the screaming music. And if I heard one single line of real singing, I didnt like it.

Then I realized how good bands like BFMV and Avenged Sevenfold are. Your a scene kid, and you are trying to live up to the "scene". I promise you, there is a lot of good music out there. Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE music such as; blessthefall, alesana, tdwp, greeley estates, bmth, etc etc.


tl;dr - Your a scene kid who only listens to "hxc" music. Grow up, there are so many good bands you are missing out on. Yes, including "mainstream" bands.

 

I listen to the heavy, screaming music like "Confide", "Blessthefall", "Sky Eats Airplane", "The Word Alive", etc...but I also enjoy other things, like Rhett Miller, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Iron Maiden, shit like that.

There's other music out there.
Get your head out of your ass.

Hardcore music is not bad...but it's not the ONLY music there is.

I like Hardcore but I don't like bands like Attack Attack and other emo bands that claim they're Hardcore. I'm not a big fan of Hardcore, I mainly listen to Hardcore Punk from the 80s and Deathcore. Most haters I see who hate on Hardcore hate on it because they listen to Hardcore Punk and hate on the new version of Hardcore because it's not as good as old Hardcore.

I see where you're coming from. Personally I don't like any of the "real hxc" songs you posted but...the music itself isn't emo or goth, but the majority of people that listen to it are, they're associated with lip rings, nose rings, snake bites, make up, dark makeup, etc.

Lol'd at the end. Mainstream means people buy it..not necessarily like it. Which is why I use limewire, I don't like 80% of the mainstream stuff. Back in the 1990-2000 time period i'd be all over it though. Anyway, that's all I have to say to you. Oh, besides Escape the Fate and the old BMTH arn't considered hxc. You need to listen to Iwrestledabearonce ...listen to the drums...Learn hardcore music.

I disagree with this completely. You can grow out of music tastes, I agree, however I believe you're letting your opinion of "Wow, this guy is wrong." influence you when you say that. I think deep down you're hoping he grows out of his decision, not necessarily all people into this genre have a artistic epitome and convert to "other types of music" do to a heightened artistic awareness.
