Are you a PC gamer or a console gamer?

Just curious to see who games on what platform the most, I myself play PC games way more then my consoles.

I used to be a hardcore computer gamer, but I calmed it down. I do a little both here and there.

 

PC since Quake, and PC only!

 

When I play games, it's only ever on the PC. I played consoles like N64 as a child, and having a fairly large collection of games for the original Xbox, I can say I much preferred the N64. Having played both Xbox360 and PS3, I can safely say I would be loath to purchase either.

N64 was great because it mainly featured RPGs which suited the control mechanism. The shooters it had, while unwieldy, were also fine-tuned to allow ease-of-gameplay given the limitations of a controller, and they were only really something you'd play with friends for fun. I absolutely loved things like Turok Multiplayer. The original Halo on Xbox wasn't bad, either, but having played multiplayer on both Halo 2 and Halo 3, I can say from experience that the combat has hardly changed. It's just no fun. I'll invoke a Zero Punctuation point here: for a game entitled "combat evolved" it's done very little in the way of evolution.

The RPGs featured on consoles are usually generic trash as well. Sure, you have half of them on PC as well, but beside the point they're annoying and unwieldy and there's no real reason to want to play them over anything else. The decent RPGs you do have on consoles are naught but annoying to play (for example: Dragon Age Origins) because of the control mechanism, and the shooters - God knows anything decent has come out since CoD4 - just seem to be overly generic. I've never felt any enticement to play a console shooter since the original Halo.

Well, that's the end of my half-rant, but to be honest, anything worth playing is released on the PC anyway, and the funny thing is you don't need to then buy a new console to be able to play it. Maybe a few upgrades every now and then, but it's still far more bang for your buck. The control system is also smoother and versatile, and no less easier to use.

So yeah, PC.

The only bad thing about PC gaming nowadays is the shit console ports honestly(GTAIV, Black ops to name 2).

I always thought console gaming was better, and PC was heaps hard, it's so simple once you get the hang of it.

Used to be a hardcore CS 1.6 / TF2 player on the PC, but I guess it was just a fad. Only play stuff on the 360 now.

 

An avid PC gamer. Now that Is after i got over the childish nature of Xbox and Other such consoles e.g. Montages, Fanboys and so on.

When i moved over to PC, all of that was gone and mostly everyone knew what they were talking about, so i knew that it was the platform for me. Plus it was going to happen anyway because I'm into computer hardware.. etc.

Oh and what Swan said, is what i try and tell people when they ask 'Why did you leave consoles' But they don't listen.

I play CS 1.6, TF2, CS:S on my computer in my spare time and Black Ops, GT5, Battlefield 2 on my PS3 too.

 

Used to play a lot more computer games, but really now it's only console games. I occasionally play a game or two on the computer, but it's brief and nowhere like playing on consoles anymore.

I play everything on pc because the best console I have is a ps2, im changing to console soon though because pc gaming is seriously turning to shit with all these console ports.

Both. Xbox for COD (haters gonna hate) and PC for WoW/rs/CSS/TF2 sometimes/COD etc.
