Processor is $120, and graphics card is $300, you are guaranteed to experience bottleneck (The processor isn't powerful enough to keep up with the graphics card). I would swap out the motherboard for a lga 1155 socket (z77 chipset is good), coupled with either the 2500k or 3570k, with a HD radeon 7850. Perhaps find RAM with better reviews, go for corsair vengeance or ripjaws. Haven't checked the connections but that PSU should support CFX so in the future you can always run 2 7850s for better performance.

what does cost of processor have to do with anything? that processor could handle more then the intel 2500k probably even the 3570k. i wont budge on the GFX card because its what im looking for. The ram has a better cas latency which gives better response times then the ripjaws line. The sniper series is just the newer version of GSKILL.

For gaming at least, the 3570k RIPS your CPU. The 2500k beats yours as well when you factor in how easy it is to OC. Your CPU is $120, and its performance reflects it. By no means is it a bad CPU, but the i5-2500k and i5-3570k are better. You probably couldn't even hit 4.8Ghz on your AMD mobo.

Like Raptor had said, a processor's price affects it's performance. That processor is on par with the i3, definitely not the i5 2500k/3570k. The GPU is fine, I was just trying to save you money, but this doesn't seem to be the problem. Most Ripjaws I've seen either match or are better than that particular RAM, and are known to be stable. You won't be able to notice the difference in either RAM anyways. Sniper series is newer but newer isn't always necessarily better.

Go with the Intel i5-3570k paired with an z77 motherboard, and you won't ever look back.

you cant always base something's performance by its price. Sure, 95% of intel's products are better than AMD's....but for the price point, you're not going to find any better deal than an AMD in terms of price/performance ratio. I try to steer away from AMD products these days due to iffy support, but i'm not going to sit here and bash someone for trying to save some money, while also trying to put together a nice build. what you have here is a good build, so ignore the intel fanboys and ignore the fools who think that you need a high-end overclocked CPU to play games, also.

Your selected setup will be outstanding for gaming. These idiots commonly seem to think that you need to have top-end CPU's just to play games, and they're completely wrong. You will NOT find your CPU as a bottleneck because to be honest, today's games won't really stretch that AMD's legs out very much. You won't notice any difference between your CPU and a 2500k during gaming. and it's highly unlikely that youll notice the difference between it and a 3570k either while gaming. It's your video card that truly matters for gaming, and you've picked a pretty good choice.

I have a old desktop Gateway FX, with a lower-end-than-yours a8-series AMD CPU(I only use it for SETI@home nowadays, i've retired it from gaming) and it has an XFX Radeon 7870 in it. That setup will run pretty much everything i want to play on max. This is NOT a very fancy computer i'm talking about here. Don't let these guys BS you.

OK, I did dramatize about the bottleneck part (Still liable to happen though), but I was just helping the OP to find a sick "gaming/anything else" setup. Judging the amount he was spending on the case/gpu/psu, why not go get the best processor in terms of gaming+? The 4170 is decent for gaming, especially at the price point and also having 4 cores(However the 965 is even better if it's still at the $75-85 price point). I hope you understand.

thanks you seem to be the only one whom isnt a fan boy.

I'll go ahead and say that I've had an intel build and an AMD build in the past. both with high end proccessors. I prefer amd because it tends to be alot cheaper for better performance. OC'ing intel builds is safer but in no way easier to do. The GFX card is the only aspect that'll affect my gaming in any way... 4.8ghz is beyond overkill for what im doing...

thanks your your feedback guys ive made up my mind now. i've replaced the memory but thats it.

I'm not in any way a expert when it comes to computers but I have a couple of suggestions.
Do you really need a $100 case? If you got a $50 case and spent that money on a gpu you could get a 7970 or 670(or at least close to it)
Also is a $110 motherboard really necessary for a $120 cpu?(Just something that popped out at me)
Finally are you going to overclock? If not you don't need the aftermarket fan.
