My two cents to the community.

Well today when I was in school, I got an email on my phone from Jagex (Or so I thought). Of course I was surprised because I'm not used to this. So I go to the school computers to check it out. But first, I go to RuneScape.com. I realized that my school had put the filter back on again :'( (But this was a great thing!). I then clicked on the "Official" Email from Jagex and I saw it wasn't blocked what so ever. So there it is, it's a fake phishing site. I closed out of everything, didn't type my username or password and left.

I got home to do some more research about this because I was interested. Here it is.

Seems pretty legit right? Except, I'm pretty sure jagex never addresses you by "Dear player" though.

Wow, if you weren't paying attention I'm pretty sure you could get hacked that way haha.

 

Very interesting, the only phish I have ever seen was one talking about runescape classic. But i'm not a dumbass, so I didn't click it.

 

nice i posted somethign about dodgy emails a few weeks back and when u click reply on email it says a diff reply email to the one it shows in main page i think

 

It's a good phish but it's been posted alot, no need to re-post it.

 

Wow, it's sad that they obviously put much time and effort into this.

 

I'm sorry, just wanted to help out the community a little bit more.

 

Yeah there's been a lot of these going around, looks like they've been targeting sythe members with visible emails.

 

Random account info does the trick.
