Why do we scam, lie, and deceive?

Why do we scam each other on sythe or in life in general? Is it because we were scammed when we first came, so it's just like seeking revenge? But when does this revenge end? NEVER! Once we scam and get away with it, we become aware of how flawed and corrupt the work is that is at hand "up top." If this is the real reason, then why are we such horrible people to want to seek revenge?
What happened to forgiveness? Are we such nasty creatures that we have to seek, what we call, “justice?”
What happened to helping others for the sake of seeing them smile, even if it is only as warm as a pixel? Are we such horrible people that we live on a one-way highway full of helpless people to hassle?
What happened to honor? Is there no such thing as respect anymore, or is it just towards those with power and authority? Are we such horrible people that we allow our reputations to hang on the bottoms of our feet while we do anything that will make us gain an advantage by trust, the same trust that is lost five minutes later, when we take advantage of someone else?
What happened to traditions and culture? Are we, the Homo sapiens, not old enough to have at least a little wisdom, or is it just our technology-corrupted generation who has been spoiled up till its neck?
Why do we lie? Are we not strong enough mentally to face the truth or are we so weak as to attain success through it?
What happened to “a man’s word?” Is it just a lie that we look at with speculating eyes?
What is happening to us and our preceding generations? Are we such horrible people that our only motivation is a reward?

What happened to selflessness? Am I alone when I stand to defend those who cannot defend themselves against you who are willing to scam, lie, and deceive anyone for the purpose of yourselves?

This our reality and our future, but it was never our past.

Looks like from some of your threads that the scammers on Sythe have gotten to you, the trick is to move onward and upward, learn from your mistakes, there is and always will be scammers on here, because at the end of the day it's human nature. Try only deal with trusted people and if not use a trusted middleman, if you follow them rules you minimize being scammed significantly. Chill bro and carry on, just be smart

 

Humans are greedy and don't do anything that doesn't have a self benefit. It's in our nature if you call it, I'm sure everyone has some kind of dark calling somewhere, but it's how we respond to that call that differentiates us from doing what is right and what is wrong.

That in itself is another issue, as we each judge "right and wrong" differently. When you have free will, you have problems.

On the internet people don't know you so they don't know who they're hurting so it's easier for them to scam. People are greedy, so they scam people they don't know to make some quick money. I know things like this (and a lot worse) also happen irl, but a lot less than on sythe/RS/the internet.
