Turn Videos to .GIF's in Photoshop

Welcome to my tutorial on how to turn video's to .gif's in photoshop. An example of what you can do with it is me attacking the guard in this signature.

    Example:

To start off, take out your hypercam, or whatever video recorder you use, and film a clip of you doing something. Alternatively, you could just take something off the internet. Once you've done that, make sure its saved to a place easy to access and to remember. Now, open up your photoshop and go to File > Import > Video Frames to Layers.

When you click Video Frames to Layers, a window like this will pop up. Choose the options I have. Once you click 'Ok' on the window below, go to Windows > Animation to access the animation bar.

When you have your first frame selected, in your layer bar, you can see that all the layers are hidden except layer 1, since you have the first frame selected. When you select the 2nd frame, layer 2 will be selected, and so on.

Now, open up a new canvas, and put whatever you want on it. Depends on if you're making a signature or a banner, or whatever. Now, since your video will most likely be too big for a signature, select the first layer, NOT the first frame, scroll up to the last layer, hold Shift, and click the last layer. This will select all the layers. Now click CTRL+T to resize all the layers at the same time, so you won't have to do it 1 by 1.

To put the video on the actual banner, signature, or whatever you're making, click the first frame, and then click the only visible layer (Layer 1), and drag it onto a spot in your signature or whatever you're making. For the second frame, do the same thing as the first frame, and keep doing that for all the frames. It's tiresome and time consuming, but it pays off. It you have another method of doing this, then use that. I am just a beginner at this, so I'm posting the way I do it.

You're almost done. You just need to save it. Go to File > Save for Web and Devices, or you can just hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S. It might take a bit to load, but once it does, just click Save, choose a place in your documents to save it too, and you're done. Have fun incorporating this into your work :)
