New rares in the future?

Does anyone have an idea if there are going to be any new rares that are going to be worth something one day?

If you're referring to a new discontinued item, then no, won't happen.

It's inevitable that Jagex will introduce a new, desirable item every so often... if that's what you're getting at.

 

Okay, so no like new rares like partyhats?

 

Jagex has already announced numerous times that there will never be another discontinued tradeable.

 

Unless Jagex does one of their notioriously dumb updates, i dont see there being many more "rares" ingame.

But, items will always be released, and some high in value.

Cronos, who knows? an item could become ''rare'' but that would be rare in itself, so maybe Jagex may introduce a new one; who knows.

I would say yes they will; just not overnight.

 

Jagex has stated that they aren't making more rares. They never planned on partyhats and santas obtaining the value they have, and they didn't want it.

 

Could you repeat that, perhaps a little bit more fluently so i can make sense out of what you were trying to say?

I can assure you, theres not going to be another rare made by Jagex. That's why they discontinued tradeable holiday events.. If you remember Mint cakes a little while ago, they were perceived as rare, but Jagex quickly nerfed them back to nothing

And im sure in tha beginning, Jagex dindt intend for partyhats and stuff to be "rare" now, or maybe they did. But, them saying that they dont like that is obviously bullshit. They design tha game to be addictive, so having a very expensive, and sought after items just plays right in.

Probably tha reason tha GE was introduced.

Jagex has stated that they will not release new so called "rares". Definatly not holiday ones, although I don't see how others may be obtained. They have stated that they never intending the "rares" to be worth this value, as they would of prefered people spending gold on items that are dropped in game, which the legit can farm e.g bandos / GWD.

Sorry, i tend to think alot of things Jagex does is a conspiricy.

 

Wont happen

 

Jagex releases new rares often, just not discontinued items. Back in 2006 ish dragon chains were around 20m and santas/masks were 10m. Recently they have released D claws, godswords etc. Just because their not discontinued doesnt mean their not rare to have.

 

I was around for first ever discountiued drops oh the days runescape was so fun back then.

 

Jagex has said this several times in the past.

 

I am pretty sure I read some where they will never make a tradeable rare every again. Could be wrong though
