How possible is it to recover this account?

    Okay,

so i bought a level 138 on ebay for £130, it was very cheap which is why i'm a little worried,

I got the account info and logged in, it has a total level of 2300+ and has 16 level 99s. It also has just over 400m xp...

The account came with no items, but still for £130 i thought this deal seems too good to be true :/

The account was provided without recovery questions set, he gave me 3 old passwords and we re-registered the email to one of mine.

The account does have membership left on it, that he has paid for.

So, here's the question.. I want to transfer some money to the account (maybe 60m or so)... but im scared incase the account gets recovered and i lose £130 and 60m cash...

How likely is it that the account can be recovered by the seller?

    1. I set the recovery answers myself,
    2. I am the owner of the registered email address
    3. I changed the password
    4. And I have 3 old passwords (if he told the truth about those)

But he obviously owns the old email address and may still know previous recovery questions... could he do anything with them at all?

The only other thing i can think of that he can recover it with is a membership receipt of some sort, how possible could it be to recover the account with what he could have? eg membership receipt.

    Sorry i'm just a little worried:love:

    Thanks,

Theres a shitload of things he can do to get the acc back.
Ip used to create acc, date of creation, internet provider, previous recoveries,
previous emails, old membership details and current.

    The account isint safe.
but unless you created it no acc really is from its first owner.

I would not recommend putting very much of your own cash on this account. Ebay will not protect you from the purchase of virtual items and in my opinion there is a very good chance the seller will recover the account.

All RuneScape accounts are recoverable, the system isn't that good. Unfortunately no account is safe unless you created it yourself.

If he recover's, just dispute, eBay will be on your side as the seller has no proof he has given the account to you.

is saying he never gave me the account better than saying he gave me it but then recovered it? :embar: Surely this wont work if i have to dispute a few months down the line?

im sure there isnt, but is there any way i can make it less easy for him to recover the account? i've heard about people buying an account and all being fine, only to have it recovered a year later and theres little they can do about it :/

Like everyone said, no account is safe unless it is created by you.

Sorry but it doesn't' look good for you. I would guess in the next weeks possibly months he will recovery his account back. You can try the old information but there is a good chance it's fake info. Either way good luck keeping your account.

How possible is it to recover this account?

Thanks for the feedback, i've got another question...

I have set a bank pin on the account,

If he recovers the account with old recovery answers/passwords/receipts etc.. and i put my expensive items in the bank at all times, if im quick enough, is it possible i could recover it back straight away with the recent questions/password/email etc and transfer my items back off it?

Or will him using his old recovery stuff wipe the stuff i set from the accounts history?

    Thanks

The stuff you set in the bank won't go away but you have a small chance of recovering the account back. I traded a guy on here and the account got locked and he didn't want to recover it so I tried with all the info he gave me; passwords, email, creation date, ip, service provider etc.

It got denied because of creation date which I don't know why....

So yeah, I lost a good account :|

Think of the bright side, At least its cheap, but I mean, If he has the original IP< its guaranteed recovery for him.

Set a bank pin so that IF he recovers it, not many items will get stolen and so you can just recover it back.

This was one of my questions - if he recovers the account will the recoveries i set even work anymore? Or will they have been wiped after he recoverd using old info, for security purposes?

This could be a bit tedious and is against rules, wouldnt Jagex pick it up quickly if i did it so frequently and ban the accs?
