If you have the money, go with an ESP or Jackson custom shop guitar.

Personally, I'm gonna have to buy a $500 Ibanez or something because it is insanely hard to get a decent left handed guitar that isn't $300 extra than the original right handed model.

Meh, I just need something to go as a backup for my Razorback, and my two choices were either the DJ-600 or the Alexi-600SE (yes I like the pink), and if those two aren't worth it, I may buy a Schecter Synyster Custom, or the Kerry King signature B.C Rich V model. Not that I like having their names plastered all over the guitars, but signature models just always seem to have the setups I want in a guitar, I hate myself for it.

It's sort of nice that ESP can have left handed guitars ordered in etc, and other companies do it as well, but so far as I've seen, it is only really the major brands. ESP is insanely expensive to be beginning with, so I won't be getting one too soon, however I like the fact that they do indeed respect left handed players.

I hate companies that adopt the opinion that left-handed people should play right-handed. What about legends such as Jimi Hendrix?

yeah I agree if they learn right handed it will take them a long time to get decent and in the long run will prolly hold them back from there best they can do.

I am left handed, but I play it right handed, no big deal.
And when I try playing left handed, it doesn't feel right and I can't play anything.

So, being left handed I learned to play right handed, not that hard, eh?

Yeah ok, now think about this I am sure you did not just take right to playing right handed if you were left (because my cousin and sister surely did not) so it took a lot longer than normal to start playing , held you back on valuable time that could have made you better, by weeks or months maybe even longer depending on how dedicated you are\were

secondly. you were naturally flexable with the opposite way , you can only force something to go so far before it will either stop, break or recoil. who knows you could be anywhere from 2x-10x better than what you are now if you were to have started off with a left handed guitar instead of forcing yourself to learn to play right handed.

im left handed, get the rg 1570 i think it is if ur going ibanez. Jackson have cheaper quality left hand models available. If you arent going for a guitar with floyd and 24 frets then get a left handed gibson sg.

So what If I AM left handed. I can hit harder with my right hand, dribble a basketball better with my right hand, and do so much.

And when I very first picked up a guitar, I started playing right handed very first time. And that is how I have played ever since.

it doesn't matter your left hand (the one you would use the most) has the strength and endurance to strum\pick etc. at high speeds for a longer period of time because those fingers are tended to be used more often than your right hand. and beings your right hand isn't used as much they won't be as strong in which without the bulk in that arm it will have much more agility and dexterity with a little practice (and I highly doubt if your left handed you can hit harder with your right hand, unless people when you were young told you to do everything right handed. and dribbeing has nothing to do with this, in basketball you are taught to dribble as good with the left as the right etc.)

At least you can actually get up and be a somewhat decent vocalist/frontman (I can see you doing either), I lack the required variation in my voice, not to mention I'm a rather quiet person.

Me and many of my peers can see me playing bass, but I love guitar just as well. There are three instruments I am fairly keen on learning to play: The guitar, the bass and the keyboard/piano.

Can you read music or do you use tabs? If so, where did you learn to read music? It's something that I've been meaning to get in to, I just can't find any good resources to learn for guitar.

lol well thanks for the compliment, and I am usually pretty quiet but I can be loud when I want to be, and I to have 3 forms of music I would like to do but also prefer guitar, those are, obviously guitar, vocals, and piano\keyboard.

As for the reading music, unfortunately I do not, I think it would be a good way to get even more out of music, But I'm in about the same boat as you, my uncle got a book from fye on how to read sheet music and what not, and he is fairly good that is how he learned, but he really only plays country. But I would think if you got the hang of it it would be fairly easy after that. But I basically use ultimate-guitar or 911tabs to get tabs for songs , or I just listen to the song a few times and learn it by ear, although that way takes more time (I don't know if you can play by ear or not) but yeah if you would like I could ask around and see if any of my friends know. anything about it but I myself have not been able to find anything (although truthfully haven't looked that much.)
