Is it possible to get a Java-Drive-By (or something similar) on a mac?

If so, how can I be protected?

 

As far as I am aware, MACs are not vulnerable Java drive bys.

 

So do I have anything to worry about in terms of phishing? (except for the fakes ones that ask you to go on the website and type in your runescape info)

 

Well, unless you type your info into the phishing websites, then no they are of no threat to your MAC. Aside from knowing which sites are real and which ones are the fakes, you should be absolutely fine.

 

Yes it is possible for a mac to be harmed by a java driveby. To protect yourself, be sure to keep everything up to date and if possible, set your computer to ask for confirmation before loading java.

 

Just looked up a bit on the Internet, it seems Macs CAN get them as Pockets stated above, but they're not as common as Windows ones, still you should use caution when you're online. As for defending yourself from them, you're better off asking Pockets or someone who is more knowledgeable in Macs than I am. Backing everything up would be one of main factors I would have thought.
