My first template! [Warning Large Image]

Here's my first template:



I didn't code it yet (I don't fully know how, YET).

So can somebody tell me what I could improve on? This was just trying out stuff, and it's really simple. I'm learning how to code and soon you'll see a nice (coded) design.

 

Again I love the combination of colours. Looks very metallic like all your designs pp
But really good imo

 

Like the color idea but where it says "Stuff goes here" There should be some box's that include the text, and you forgot the ""s around tmoes quote.

 

Floral motif is a bit cliché, something a bit more elaborate would add to the templates aesthetics as well.
The navigation section should be more of a bar rather than assorted buttons.
Also, headers of a website page should usually include a Company logo or image - not just plain text.
Satisfied customers section should be pushed further to the right - it's a bit to large proportionally...

Lol yeah I was about to do that but it was just a quick template image I made.
And haha yeah I guess I forgot that.

Ah this was just a quick one, I was about to leave that top part (besides buttons) blank, but I put a flower and text hehe. I think the buttons would go better with THIS template image, but on others maybe a bar would be better. As said above, I didn't focus on top part.

This was a quick one, I'll be making better ones that I work harder on and will actually code it.

 

Pretty awesome to be honest. Can't say much except it looks nice.

One tiny thing is the words "Floral Shop" would probably look nicer if the font has slightly rounded edges.

 

Placement/positioning could be much better - for example the nav bar is in a completely irrelevant place, there is no logotype of sorts (or no defining logo/brand), the shadow coming into the banner from the bottom needs to be removed, and a subtle gradient could replace it, but a far larger scaled and stretched out gradient in the banner itself.

The borders of the header and main page aren't amazing, try experimenting with closer and subtler colours, such as 2px borders. Colours could be more exciting, with higher chroma's emphasising the important areas (where the logo should be/nav bar/info area etc), Website could have more done to it to be honest

i think it would be pretty nifty if the buttons in the corner were smoother.
but other than that i dont see any significant problems good job =]

 

Aw I thought I did a good job on the navigation bar haha. As said above, the person using it (nobody would use this crap lol) would put their own logo in, but I didn't bother to make one for a made up flower shop.
I kinda had this theme and these colors in mind when I saw some blog or something, and so I kinda guessed at what the colors were like.

I noticed the spacing on the "about us" button is messed up.

Other than that it's good for a first.

 

Instead of the harsh black lines on the green bar, use either a darker or a lighter green. I know it's not the look you're going for here, but you must think about the implications of flowers. It's expected that you use more ornate looking fonts. Any serif font would be a good choice.

The customer feedback is a little overkill with the fonts. Perhaps at least use a nice, small font for the actual feedback. It'd be relatively alright to keep the names in the same font and size, however.

Aswell as this, moving the 'navbar' (if you can even call it that in this case) to a more central location on the grey block.

I think you need a more defined shadow on the divider inbetween the main content section and the quotes. Imo it would look better if it was a bit darker and closer to the object it is shadowing. Also your 'about me' text on that button needs to be centerd within it, other than that its pretty nice.

 

center the text on the buttons of the nav bar.
