My first gfx piece ever, help me haha.

Well I decided to attempt to make something today. It's not really the size of a signature, so that's why I said gfx piece.

I saw some people talking about how they start with downloadable brushes and different fonts you can get on the internet. I'd like it if some of you could teach/show me where/how to get those.

I'd also like to try some good guides if anyone knows of some that are good.

Oh, and I made it with adobe photoshop elements (not cs3 or anything amazing)

And the text says In Blood Lies Safety. It's hard to read, and I wasn't sure how to fix it.

 

there isnt a general flow to the picture, no offence but it kinda looks copy+pasty, i would change the font, nd maybe read sum tuts. instead of trying to fill up the whole picture with many subjects, maybe concentrate on one or two pictures that really flow with the text if ya get wht i mean. im no expert but i hope that advice helps ya =]

 

Well, it was much, much more than copy and paste lol (I took some of the pics myself, others I got from the internet). The text took me a long time to make, but I did something that made it hard to read :/ As for the tuts, I'd like it if someone could give me some links to good ones. Thanks for the advice.

 

It looks like there are 4 different aspects to the 'gfx piece'. None of which match the others, there is black and white, and color, and it looks like it's divided in 4 or 5 boxes and you worked within those boxes. The text is horrible, can't read it, and I don't like the way it's in that box.

Keep working, and messing around with stuff. I'm not expert with ps, but it's important you get criticism so you can learn from it.

Maybe Darby or Durial will post on this and give you some harsh criticism. That will help you.

Text is unreadable. The images(At least that what I think those are..) in the back ground's contrast too strongly. It's far too obvious that it was just a bunch of pictures thrown together. It's not the worst thing I've ever seen, but it's not bad for a first piece. Keep working at it, and you'll get the hang of it eventually.
