Well, as of about 5 minutes ago, my computer screen started acting funny. The brightness will adjust itself randomly, for varying periods of time. Sometimes it will go very dark, so I can just barely make out what I'm reading or typing, and sometimes it will become very bright, so much so that it hurts my eyes. It will stay like that for anywhere from 5-30 seconds, and it is bothering me to the point that I have started becoming extremely frustrated, and so I am asking for help before I start randomly pressing buttons and smacking my keyboard. Please help?

try unplugging the power for a day and then try again. maybe a wire or something burned out/magnet near computer

This problem is similar to what I had with my old flatscreen. The whole screen burned out (happens when you keep the screen active for a long time, try setting hibernation or the option which turns off your monitor after a set amount of time) and it was completely black and I had to throw it away. Turn it off, unplug it and cool it down for a bit, then take it to a repair shop so they can take a look at it. Hopefully, nothing is wrong with it.

It's probably trying to re-adjust it's self like something is wrong. If things still go wrong call the company.

I'd ask the company about your monitor as well too. If it is just re adjusting the monitor contrast/brightness and such I doubt it's the video card.

Make sure in your image settings ASCR is turned off.

To do this.

1. Menu on your screen.
2. Go tru till you find image.
3. Go down untill you find ASCR.
4. Turn it off.

Hope this helps.

its power supply

as i had similar problems in the past its probably 1 of 2 things the monitor is about to blow out or the power supply about to go out. it the monitor is old then probably going out if its new how old is the power supply 3 4 years old? may be about to die

Hmm prolonged use turns them like that.
Checking your cables is the best idea
also check for anything putting out lots of heat.
