Hey, i'm quite new to photoshop, i use photoshop cs3,
for the past 5 hours, i've been messeing around and learning a thing or too,

I have a problem, i have no idea how to change the colour of my brush haha, so if you could tell me how, it'd be much appreciated.

    VERY basic.
You should consider finding other fonts.
Look at the girl picture number 2, right.
Look at how the render is cut.
    It's not good.
I don't like any of them, sorry.
But for a beginner, they are okay, I guess.
    Read some tutorials.

    tut.or.ia.ls.

read tutorials, learn your way around photoshop. use effects, not just random things like " non-blended render, bg, brushes, outer glow 100%..etc."

tutorial9.net is a good site to learn from.

Ah! Starting is always the longest process my friend! You will soon be constructing magnificent pieces of art, but ONLY with PRACTICE. You should look up tuts but don't copy them, learn from them! Take time to figure out your own unique style, its worth it in the end.

For tuts, renders and resources, check http://www.planetrenders.net/

I find YouTube to be a horrible place for guides, usually.

Maybe here and there you'll find a good photoshop guide, but usually stick to sites made for tutorials on photoshop/google.

Also, just select your color as normal, but since you seem new to photoshop.. here is what I mean:

    So yeah.

Right click on your layer and select Blending Options.

Then go to Color Overlay on the window that pops up, and set it to the color you want. Extra work but you get the color you want.

epic noob indeed. backgrounds should have some texture to them, not just patterns repeated. look up some grunge tutorials, there probably the easiest sig to make and help you learn to blend better

Since your new i won't be too hard on you they are decent for your level in experience.

I agree with the people above me the best thing to do is to read tutorials and add your own style to them.

What you've done is decent for your experience. Try to find some serious tutorials, and not some shit you've found at youtube that you can barley see what tools they're using.

    Good luck photoshoping though.

To be blunt, they all look shit.
Look up some tuts, and try some more complicated stuff. Good luck, and don't give up.
