Do you have an e-mail login?

This doesn't prove my theory wrong though, specifically looking for ppl who did get the message via e-mail or ingame.

It is not an email login, but it is the registered email, Stating that perhaps RSbuddy clients DO NOT have their paypal purchases leaked. Which if your theory is correct, would mean some other botting companies did.

If my theory is correct you didn't get the message if you only used rsbuddy.

Jagex got the emails from Paypal, the emails that you all used to buy your scripts.
Also, I'm no expert in law, but I'm pretty sure this is a legitimate threat. Your entire account and everything on it is the sole property of Jagex, and I guarantee when you clicked "agree" to make the account, you probably gave Jagex legal permission to sue you if you broke one of the terms in the contract. Then do not say it was paypal..

I would think impsoft over paypal, as impsoft was sued and this might've been a court decision.

Paypal do this stuff... Hence why most of the "Cannabis Grow Sites" have closed down, due to the police... paypal was tipping people off crazy I know
but it's honestly true Paypal do tip off....

It might be the law... they might have to go that I'm not sure, but I agree with this, they got you through paypal.

Very interesting, this certainly proves my theory right.

Just curious if it was paypal or nexus, if it is nexus they would never say this to their customers I guess.

It is a mystery indeed how they got the e-mails, maybe they threatened a bot company and the bot company bribed them with their database of e-mails? I never got one, then again I've never botted.

I can confirm that, my billing email (paypal) is the same as the one on my account.

Regardless of what company actually gave up the info to Jagex, whoever did it was likely legally obligated to hand over the e-mails of anybody who purchased the Ibot auths in order to save their own asses and avoid a potential massive legal blow and unnecessary costs. I'm sure that info would not have been handed out without Jagex having gone to extensive lengths to obtain the information on legal grounds, and to use in their court battle.

I still believe that this is most likely a scare tactic just to scare off the casual botters from using bots again. The people who ignore this email will most likely NOT be sued, but I'm sure Jagex will definitely be going after any and all major botting companies and developers that they are able to pursue legally. The average botter is probably safe from any legal action taken against them.

Paypal isn't allowed to release info. however nexus disclaimer says the disclosure of the personal info is at their power, they can do what they deem to be neccesary for it.

Did I receive this email in the inbox of my paypal email address?

    Yes.

Oddly enough, that same e-mail was linked to, what I believe to be 4 accounts (Don't remember which emails I attached to which account, but I know it's around that number)

Only 1 out of the 4 characters got the inbox message, which was my abbysal demon botter that has 135M Attack XP achieved in the past 6 months (Any idiot using runetracker could figure out I was botting lol) the other 3 characters didn't receive anything via the RS Inbox messaging system.
