A fetus is incapable to any extent of survival on its own and likewise is incapable of thought, reason, or basic human functions whereas a criminal is a fully-developed human being that is capable of thought and reason to an extent.

Exactly. A fetus needs help to survive, and cannot make it's own choices. It doesn't deserve for someone else to decide whether or not it develops into a full-grown human, or whether to kill it before it has a chance to do so. A fully-developed human being that is capable of thought and reason that has the death penalty does/did bad things intentionally to get him there.

Life at conception is what people think. It's actually further down the line.

A fetus can't think for his/herself, and can't make any decisions. Its only crime was to have been conceived, so what right do these people have to simply decide to end its existence when it hasn't even seen the world.

However, a death penalty is normally not given out without a firm and good reason. Also, the criminal could probably think for him/herself and thus should be responsible for his/her own actions.

    I'm with Viper...

Recently, the definition of "Life" had been changed by scientists just for the support of Abortion.

In actuality, a fetus is composed of 3 main parts: the placenta, umbilical cord, and amniotic sac. The placenta exerts hormones that cause for the exchange of blood between the mother and the fetus through the umbilical cord.

A fetus does have a heart, brain, and lungs but they are very immature at the fetal stage, the lungs only begin to take small contractions to learn how to manage oxygen. When the brain is beginning to learn how to control it's body the fetus moves, which is what sometimes the woman feels when the baby is "kicking" inside.

A fetus is indeed a living being, it is beginning to develop it's primary organs and is beginning to learn how to use them. It does not deserve to die, whether or not a fetus feels pain or not (still scientifically debated whether nerve endings and sensory features are developed until the 3rd trimester).

However, a man who committed a crime where death is a possible option is reasonable. Someone who has the audacity to murder, steal, lie, or cheat to the extent where his right to mortality is questioned does deserve to die. There are way too many prisons in America that are crowded with too many people who will be serving long terms and when released will not be rehabilitated, rather just hungry to strike again. I think the death penalty should not only be enforced, but also expedited, death should be swift against those who do wrong.

When it comes to abortion, it is wrong to have unprotected sex and then expect to abort your child because you were clumsy, I do not support that. I feel abortion should be illegal with exception for rape, maternal life, health, mental health, or fetal deformities.

Sorry if this didn't help your question Viper, I am not a liberal that supports abortion fully that could give you an answer as to why it is just.

Yeah I'll explain it for you:

Dude you are a fucking moron. Liberals don't support abortion, they support letting you make your own choice of either getting one or not. It's pro-choice, not pro-abortion, fucking dumbass.

Are you retarded? Liberals transitively support abortion, if they support the free choice to abort a fetus, they in turn support the act of abortion.

Think of it this way, if you wanted racism to end in America, you would instate laws against hate crimes and segregation, not support the right for businesses and schools to turn down minorities because of their color, religion, etc. There needs to be regulations on abortions, what justifies an abortion or not.

They support the individual's right to choose what they feel is best for themselves along with the fetus.

How would regulating abortions help anybody?

Because many people don't have the best interest for the fetus in mind. Society in general cannot be trusted with their own well-being or with that of others.

I can actually give an example, my cousin is one of those stereotypical douchebags that's 30 years old and blew his inheritance on a Lamborghini and Ed Hardy clothing while he still lives with his mother. He goes out clubbing and he has actually gotten 2 women pregnant and has paid for both their abortions. Now he wasn't a responsible person at all, neither were the women he slept with. Now those 2 women have spoiled their reproductive organs along with the fact that they killed 2 fetuses which like I said earlier, are premature humans.

A fetus is not conscious, it's like killing sperm. It is just potential for a fully-functioning baby. Enforcing the death penalty is killing a living, thinking, caring (in one way or another) human being.

I already addressed this part, a fetus is indeed a living baby. It is hard to determine at this point if it conscience or if it feels pain, these are some of the most debated issues regarding abortion and fetal rights.

Enforcing the death penalty is basically killing off the unnecessary, it is wielding a form of Social Darwinism, those who are unfit for society do not belong. A fetus is too young for people to determine if it is fit for society or not, it is wrong to kill it.

I agree with the above posters. I for one support abortion. A woman should decide what she wants to do with her body. I'm pretty sure the fetus wouldn't mind dying either because it will have no knowledge of it's death.

Edit: I also do not support the death penalty.. Why? What if you kill the wrong person? You're fucked for life thinking about the innocent person you killed. Also it's inhumane. (leathal injection is very painful and sometimes cause the person to suffocate to death.

Why do you idiots always assume abortion is murder?

A foetus is an unconscious, unthinking organism. It is not a human being, atleast not until very late in development.

The mother must have the right to decide what she wants to do with her own body, not have the choice made for her by an external party for religious or political reasons.

As for capital punishment, there have been multiple cases where the wrong person was executed, or later evidence has shown they should not have been executed.

Not only that, unlike a foetus a fully grown, fully functioning adult is conscious and self aware. Capital punishment equates to state sponsored premeditated murder, and has no place in a 21st century democracy.

Those who take away other people's lives (directly or indirectly) for unjust causes don't have the right to live.

When is the point when the state is allowed to decide who lives and who dies? There have been multiple cases of the wrong person being killed.

First of all, avoid loaded words like several Angelmax. Since 1976 there have been 1200 executions in the US and 39 of them have been proven to be without affirmation of guilt. The fact that there have been wrongful convictions before does not make a case for the Death Penalty being immoral, it tells that the judicial system is flawed in their conviction. Even if the person was not sentenced to death, he would still have a life in prison sentence, which means he would have to spend time rotting in a correctional facility.

So it doesn't bother you that the state has wrongly murdered 39 innocent individuals? And is that not perhaps a suggestion that the death penalty is unjust?

Here is an example of a case from 1993, where a man was sentenced to death based on the testimony of one person.

    http://majikthise.typepad.com/majikthise_/2005/11/texas_executed_.html

Sure enough, later evidence has proven that he did not commit the crime he was accused of, and went to his death innocent.

Had he been imprisoned, he could have been released.

No, the fact that someone is WRONGLY ACCUSED reveals a flawed arbitration, leading to false sentencing. The option to sentence a man is not unjust, as long as it is used correctly.

from now on no more abortions. just take out the living fetus and see how long it survives on it's own without holding it's mother who doesn't want it as a prisoner.
