MSN Mass Add Problem (and how to fix it)

    Introduction

Are you being flooded by thousands of these add requests? Are your hands getting tired of clicking of clicking 'No' over and over again? Do you want to find a way to prevent this from happening the future? Even if you don't have this problem yet, it's best to stop it before it happens to you.

The fix is simple, really, but I made this guide since a lot of people have been continuously asking this in the H&S section.

This guide is best viewed in NextGen.

Why and how do people do it?

Most people do it when they have a grudge against someone, so it's best not to piss people off unnecessarily. Others do just for the fun of it. They use MSN bots, which send you thousands of these requests just to piss you off. If you want more details, search for it in the internet.

    What do I do now?

First, open your Live Messenger window and log in using your username and password.

Now, you're probably already being flooded by the add requests. Unfortunately, you'll have to manually deny them all or use a mouse macro (recommended) to do it for you. Once you're done with that, follow the steps below.

How do I stop it from happening again?

If you're already logged into MSN, look at the screenshot below and click on Show Menu -> Tools -> Options.

Now, just click on 'Privacy' and un-tick 'Alert me when other people add me to their contact list.' Click 'OK' and you're done.

If you have the 'Only people on my Allow List can see my status and send me messages' option ticked, un-tick it now or people who want to talk to you won't be able to.

Why do I have todisable those options?

Usually when you get added to someone else's contact list, you get a friend invitation request from them. People misuse this to flood your MSN with thousands of these invitations, often for payback possibly because of some past event or quarrel.

That option, once disabled, blocks any further invitations you would've gotten. The downside of this is that you'll always have to add other people yourself.

Thanks for reading my guide. Critiques and ratings are appreciated. If you have any idea on how to improve this guide or spot any grammatical errors, post away.

MSN Mass Add Problem (and how to fix it)

Being mass added on MSN is a common problem that happens to a lot of people and it's very annoying. This is a simple guide that fixes a big problem. I like how you added pictures and used simple text to describe it all.

You MIGHT want to add how and why people usually get mass added on MSN.

I don't really see anything else that you could fix or add on, so with that being said, it's a overall, good guide. 8/10

Great guide, Good use of center option, and pictures are right sized, sensible font, and the layout can not be faulted.
To improve, the last point you made "Now, just click on 'Privacy' and un-tick 'Alert me when other people add me to their contact list.' Click 'OK' and you're done."
Could you explain in the guide actually what happens when someone tries to add you. You've succeeded in fully comprehending and getting your guide through, and it's good, maybe you could just add examples when someone tries to add you, I think that is possibly the only improvement, apart from that great guide.
