How many bots can I run? A MUST READ TOPIC!

Ok, so basically I'm planning to buy the new HP computer here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Pa...rive/1805571.p?skuId=1805571&id=1218293495149

How many bots (NeXus) will it be able to run...

It has 8GB RAM .. but please refer to the website on bestbuy for more details. It's an hpe-570f model.

1) So how many NeXus bots would I be able to run on it right when I take it outta' the box with out any programs running on it?


2) What determines the amount of bots I can run on the computer? Is it like RAM or GHz etc... please tell me details.

 

It depends on the type of bots you're running, low ram bots such as sorc garden, flaxer will use 526MB. Bots such as soulwars will use 1GB tops. Your CPU wont really affect how many bots you can run, as long as its an i3 + you'll be fine.

 

The general rule of thumb is half a gig per bot. So in your case around 16.

Generally, I wouldn't run more than 6-8 at a time, it's just best not to.

 

Great... I'm starting to understand this. It has a AMD Phenom™ II Processor... so is that like an i7 or i5 (compared to Intel)? And is it the processor that matters how much bots I can run... Ok... So then

1) What does the GHz affect?
2) So with the pre-installed ram (8gb) I can run around 8-10 solid bots?
3) If I upgrade to 16GB Ram (doable) I would be able to run ___#___ bots.
4) Also, how much (estimated) would an upgrade from 8gb to 16gb like that cost with that computer? Anyone knows?

Why would you say it's best not to?

 

I'd say like 10. I can run more than 20, but I have a faster processor and some more RAM than you would.
