My computer is way to slow, IDK why? [HELP]

Hi guys, i've got a 4-5 year old computer, and it used to be amazingly fast, Now it's so slow, I can't do more than 1 thing at a time and that's with it lagging like mad!
Can anyone help me resolve this issue?

ALSO - Why Wifi signal is rubbish to my room, Is there anything i can buy/use to make my wifi a strong connection?

Well it may be time for a defragmentation of your hard drives (windows has one, look it up) and then download CCleaner, clean up the registry and uninstall all the stuff you no longer use. Worst case, do a reformat and wipe everything then reinstall a fresh copy of windows.

As far as wifi goes, it may be worth buying an electrical lan adaptor, which means you can plug it into any wall socket and have internet through your electrical wiring. I use one myself to get a network on my desktop and it's pretty decent. Otherwise you could just buy another router and plug it in your room, set it up to receive the signal from the main one and then plug your pc via an ethernet cable into it.

How do i reformat ?

 

You'll need your windows installation disc. Should have come with your computer if it's something like Dell or another similar brand. Just restart your computer with it in the DVD drive and reinstall it fresh from there. Backup all your important files, photos, music, videos, movies etc. before you do it as it may wipe everything.

 

I didn't get a disk with my computer. This isn't good

 

For it's age it shouldn't be running like it is.
