so when are we allowed to make threads or even an announcement asking for donations?

every other thread someone has EVER made was locked by mods saying you can ask in your sig but not make a thread for it.

was there a new rule change or is it only allowed when a mod does it?

 

Donations arent going to him, they're going to charity instead, so what's the problem about it ?

 

There is no rule against creating threads for fundraising efforts so long as they aren't for one's personal use, as Zuzel said. Just on a side note, this is the 3rd time I have raised money for charity through sythe in this way and to date, sythe users have contributed $1,700+ through these threads. The generosity of users on this site never ceases to impress me
