    Holy shit

That is really traumatizing for anybody to see, for another human being to lose their life in front of you. I don't imagine it is easy to recover from that sort of experience.

How has it impacted your life? And have you found anyways to "deal with it" and move on, such as grief counselling or PTSD therapy, etc?

This isn't as bad as everyone elses experiences but when I was 12 I got kind of lured to a friends house he asked me to go down the garden to play football so I went down and then 6 people came out from this 1 bush all with these sticks which are kind of like whips and they said its a game and I have to go down on my knee's so I did, and they all started whipping me around the face, ribs and my legs as I had shorts on, and then I had to put my hands on my head and if I move everyone can whip me once and kick me in the ribs, I was there for about 1 hour and a half, after being whipped quite alot I just made a run and sprinted for it, one of them picked up a hard plastic pole with the bottom end all sharted so it was super sharp and he launched it in my back whilst I was running which sent me down to the floor but they were all laughing which made them run slower and me faster.

I eventually ran home and got in and haven't been outside of school with friends since then, which is 4 years. - The worst thing was the guys parents weren't in.. I've still got scars on my back and my calf and lower part of my thighs.

I'd only go outside of school if I was with my dad/mum no one else. :/ So yeah it has messed up my social life.

I have no friends at school but there are teachers who I'm friends with, who I can go into woodshop and build / design stuff, That's really why I go onto runescape, forums, so I can make friends it maybe over the internet but its the closest I've had to a friend in years

Most painful event/situation you have lived through?

I'm sorry to hear your stories, and I'm very happy to see mature reactions and perseverance despite what life has served to some. Zerkerfist, you're a class act. Thanks for the thread and for the responses. My story would be even longer if I included all details so I'll try to cliff note it with main points the best I can to keep it a reasonable length.

Basic Summary: I went from well off to broke almost overnight, and have been struggling to recover. In the meantime I've been facing various challenges, both financial and emotional. Life, it seems, doesn't want me to catch a break.

    • I started an RMT business for a popular game, made it successful from zero, and was living very comfortably.
    • After about 5 years everything was going well, but I needed some quick cash to cover some payroll as well as some personal bills.
    • I contacted a Chinese company who had earlier expressed interest in buying in bulk from me. We agreed on a deal of ~$60,000 (wholesale price) worth of digital items.
    • I gave them access to a few mule accounts holding part of the inventory so they could confirm availability.
    • Soon after, all of the mule accounts were permanently closed. Over the next few days, 20+ high value farming accounts were closed as well as many more mule accounts not involved in the transaction. All closed because the game company thought I was part of the shady Chinese company.
    • (I only found this out later...) The game devs were already tracing that Chinese company and their IPs for dishonest RMT services resulting in account theft.
    • In half a week, I lost everything I had worked for over 5 years including hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of inventory.
    • I sold the RMT business which still had lots of loyal and incoming customers. I was left with barely enough in my accounts to cover the debt I was planning to pay off with the 'small' wholesale deal.
    • I had paid a lot of equity in my house. It dropped about $70,000 quick with the economy, and took most of my equity.
    • I took temp jobs where I could get them, delivered newspapers, and paid the remainder of what I couldn't earn with credit cards.
    • After getting on track a little (earning enough to pay bills + credit card payments), and slowly climbing out of my debt, my father was diagnosed with cancer.
    • I take lots of time off work to help get him to appointments, chemo treatments, transfusions, etc. As well as help him understand his condition and what his doctor tells him.
    • I am no longer able to work enough to pay all my bills + cc payments, so all the credit that had been paid off is being re-used. My father is struggling to pay medical bills and I feel horrible that I once was well off, but now cannot help him financially.
    • In my free time I'm trying everything I am capable of to recover financially so that I can help those who deserve it. I do tech support and computer repair, I do web design & seo for local businesses, I build my own websites and try to earn some extra with affiliate marketing, I'm doing bodybuilding.com transformation challenges seriously to try to win some prize money, I am doing anything I can think of to earn some extra income that will also allow me the time to keep helping my dad.
    • A while ago I made a few simple bot-like programs for my niece and nephew to boost their accounts in the games Club Penguin, Farmville, and Runescape. I'm improving them and releasing them to others on one of my websites, and that's what brought me to Sythe.org

Thanks for listening to my first-world problems, lol. They may not be as bad as some, but it's been pretty overwhelming for me these past couple years and I am still worried about the future for those who have to depend on me financially.

Here's a website I made that many of you may find useful. Don't worry, this is not one of the affiliate ones that I'm trying to get rich from. It's something I made to motivate myself to never give up no matter how tough life gets.

Holy shit man... I would not say for one second that your experience is ANY less traumatizing than alot of the stories in this thread.

The experience you went through sounds absolutely horrible... your friends betrayed your trust, and then abused you physically and emotionally for almost 2 hours. I don't blame you one bit for having a hard time making new friends and/or trusting people. If you haven't had many other friends, you might not know this but real friends would NEVER, EVER do something like that to you. What happened to you was totally abusive, plain and simple.

I think you are very brave for posting your story here for others to read, and I hope it feels helpful to you to get this off your chest. Sythe.org is a great website with many helpful, accepting people, and so if you continue to stick around here you will surely make some great friends :)

Kids can be so cruel to each other and make the world seem like such a nasty place. But I promise, as you get older things change quite a bit. You will meet more likeminded people who have similar interests and hobbies as you, and you will be able to see for yourself that not all people are complete assholes like your current "friends."

Just keep your head up man, things WILL get better some day. There are many great people out there and its only a matter of time before you find them. Thank you for sharing your story :)

Wow GamePrograms, that is quite the story

I am really sorry to hear about the series of misfortunes in your life. You truly do not sound like you deserve any of it at all. Unfortunately in life, it often seems that bad things happen to good people for no apparant reason at all.

I have to say that I am completely impressed with you. Despite your emotional and financial hardships, you seem to be unwilling to accept defeat. Your hard work, motivation, and perseverance are sure to pay off again at some point, and I think you have a really big heart based on the fact you are more worried about being able to help your Dad than you are about getting back to your well-off lifestyle.

You seem very skilled with computers and technology in general, and I know you are doing alot of odd jobs at the moment to bring in as much income as possible, but have you considered looking around for full-time work in the technological industry? Maybe you can get some work as an IT worker or consultant for a company? You seem far too skilled at what you do for your talents and abilities to go unnoticed and not to be snatched up by some company that can make use of you.

Just keep your head up and keep plowing forward like you are doing. I am positive that eventually your hard work will pay off again and you will find yourself in a better place. Your attitude and your mindset are half the battle as well, and maybe the harder half, and you seem to be handling that part extremely well. :)

I also checked out your website and I bookmarked it to scour through later for the quotes. I took a quick look and it looked really motivational, and I personally am a huge fan of collecting & writing down quotes in journals, so I will be taking a closer look later today.

Thanks for posting your story man and I hope you enjoy your time here at Sythe. There are alot of money-making opportunies on this website, especially for a guy with as much talent as it sounds like you have. Stay positive and keep moving forwards mate! You can do it! I also wish your father the best of luck in his treatments & recovery :)

I was in a summer camp for like, future politicians in 10th grade (ya weird, I know) so basically taking college level classes with a bunch of high schoolers. Being the guy I am I was pretty much classified as a weirdo by much of my roommates on my floor (like people would say it to my face -.-), however I made friends with many cute chicks and was the most interesting 3 weeks of a "summer" camp I'd had in my life. However for months I was incredibly reluctant to go, it was a tough transition being the first time living away from home but was an incredibly positive experience by the end of it. So I would say some of our toughest times can also bring out the best in us. Relative to all you guys though, I would say I had it easy, i'm just socially anxious so It was a tough time for me.

When I broke my arm on a fun fair ride, I was only 5 and at this age you know how I no doubt felt. Really scared and in serious pain, I was rushed to hospital and then had to have it reset in place.

    Very interesting story! :)

I really like what you said about sometimes the toughest times can bring out the best things in us. That statement is absolutely true. Life is such a rollercoaster ride at times, with ridiculously high highs and low lows. But it is through the negative experience, the tough experiences, that we are really tested and where we learn the most important life lessons - about the world around us and about ourselves.

Really glad to hear that in the end it all worked out and ended up being a positive experience for you. Good for you man! Thank you for sharing :)

I know exactly what this is like mate. I broke my wrist at a very young age playing on a playground, and I remember feeling no pain as I hit the ground but feeling kind of in shock.. that is the point that I saw my wrist, bent out of shape like a staircase, and that I really started to freak out.

Of course it was just a broken arm and so it was nothing life threatening, but at the time it was very terrifying for me as I had never been seriously injured and had no idea what it was, or how bad it was. My arm looked so grossly misshaped that I thought for sure I was going to lose it haha.

Anyways, I know exactly what you must have went through bro, and so I can relate :)

Most likely the passing of my father. I really wouldn't like to go into details much.

Thats ok man, I completely understand. I would like to thank you for posting and sharing anyways :)

Dealing with the death of somebody close to you is always hard, and its even harder when its somebody in your immediate family who you are very close to. Unfortunately it is one of the bigger challenges in life, but if you can learn to deal with it then you can learn to deal with anything. Stay strong bro

I just want to say that this is an amazing thread and zerkerfist is truly inspiring in the way he helps other users. As for me this is really eye opening because the most traumatic event for me would probably be the passing of my grandmother.

Most painful event/situation you have lived through?

Thanks man, I appreciate it :)

Like alot of other people in this thread understand, losing a family member is one of life's worst experiences. But I do believe that its those sorts of experiences that make you a stronger person in the end, and its during these times that you learn & grow to be a stronger person. I have only ever known one grandmother, and I would be completely devestated if I were to lose her.. she is the best grandma ever. I hope you have come a long way since your grandmother's passing, in regards to the healing process.

I'm really glad I could help man! :) That is why I made this thread.

For me it's probably 2008-2010, during that time my 5 year old brother died of cancer and my Dad commited suicide.

It isn't nice to deal with (especially being only 12 when my brother died) but in the end it makes you stronger, and to be honest it was something I had no control over and so you just (to put it bluntly) have to deal with it and look to the future.

My experience wasn't as painful as it was scarring. Back in the stupid teenage years i experimented alot with drugs and shit, so this one time i took some acid and just tripped balls. I got this fever(dunno if it was a fever it was just this really cold sensation) and just vomited alot. On top of that i did get some weird ass hallucinations and the experience overall was extremely frightening (i thought i OD'd and was dying or something). Probably the worst 5 hours of my life. Haven't touched any drug except for pot since.

That sounds like an really terrible time of your life, and all within such a short span :(

I really like your outlook on the situation though. There are many people (myself included), who tend to get depressed and adopt the "why me?" attitude, and it drags them down for the rest of their lives unless they can learn how to cope & move forwards. You sound incredibly mature and like you have handled things quite well. Good for you man :)

Believe me, I know from personal experience how terrifying a bad acid trip can be. I think in the end, this experience has been very good for you in alot of ways. Nobody should ever have to go through such a traumatizing mental experience, but if it turned you off of drugs for the rest of your life then I believe it was a good thing.

Whenever you feel yourself being tempted to use drugs in the future, always keep that bad trip in the back of your mind. It might be the very thing that saves you from making some very bad decisions in the future.

When me and my family were at one of those swimming pools in the beach and my little sister (2) slipped under the rails and fell onto rocks and I was so scared she was going to die.

Not sure if you are trolling are not. If you are, trolling is not welcome on this thread.

That sounds really terrifying for both you & your family. I assume your sister ended up being OK in the end, thankfully.

That is ok. Thank you for sharing nonetheless :) I hope that the situation was resolved peacefully and that you have not been a victim of further domestic violence.

I was involved in an accident just after turning 18, I started a new place of work and was involved in some horseplay with the lads that had been there a while. The horseplay resulted in me loosing the sight in my right eye permanently.

At first, the 3 days in hospital and for about 4-5 months after i hoped recovery could take place, but after I had to accept that this was it for the rest of my life. But I shrugged it off and tried to be strong about it, and personally it has made me a hell of a better person.

Very short story for what I could elaborate on but this is my input.

EDIT: I also did not receive any compensation for my loss.
