Fake Id

Hey, so my brother is 22. I am 20, so close to 21! I am going away to college with one of my good friends in like a month and have a question about id's...

(I live in New York)

So if I pay the dmv $17.50 I can get a duplicate of my brother's license. I don't really look like him but I will have his old debit card that has his name on it as well, in case they know it isn't me.

What are the consequences if like the clerk takes my brothers ID and calls the cops etc. Will my brother get in trouble, like I will say I stole it from him, also I will be using the ID for alcohol if that wasn't clear. What will happen to me?

 

Yeah if they actually call the cops its a misdemeanor. My buddy always uses his and i reccomend just always going to the same place so they know you. And if your that worried about it just never give them the id just like hold it up to them.

 

hmm so basically if he takes the id I should just run? Cause then they don't know who I am and can't prove my brother didn't just lose it!

Just wait until your 21. A lot of people get caught. I used a fake ID I made off photoshop from 16-18 years old to buy alcohol and there were many close calls. It is not worth it for how close you are. If you get caught both you and your brother will get in trouble.

It is not hard to survive underage.

Just have friends buy the alcohol for you and if you want to drink at bars go pitch in for a pitcher and cups and everyone can drink without questions (pitchers are worth it anyways, real cheap) unless its a real gay bar with wristbands.

 

If you get caught with a fake ID you can lose your license.

Yes you may. The reasons is I am not 21 until June. That is two semesters not being 21? Like I have no problems getting alcohol right now since I'm home. But I'm going away to college and know no one.

Hmm well I will only carry it when I buy the beer's then put it back in my room. So the only way I will be caught with it is by cops pulling up before I can run out of store.

I mean it's not fake so to say, it's a legit license, just not mine =)

Again it will be scannable since it is a real license, and if the person takes it and calls cops I will run. There is no chance my brother will get in trouble now that I think of it. Since in order to get another one from the DMV is by claiming you lost it. So my brother will lose it, because I will "steal it"...

Yea just have friends buy it, that will evenutally work. But it will be my first year at this new school and I only know my one friend who is 20 as well. So we are trying to figure out how we will get the beverages.

 

The law is not stupid and work dirty. Trust me, with all the circumstantial evidence against you, including a store tape of your face if requested, you'll just dig yourself in a deeper hole. Just wait until your 21.

 

I mean what is the footage of my face going to do? You really think the cops are going to look for a 20 year using MAYBE someone else's ID to buy beer?

 

Just wait until your 21, why risk losing your licence for that.

Reasons for not waiting until 21: First week of meeting people at college, I'd personally not like to start with get me beer.

your only chances of getting in real trouble is if a cop is present when you're suspected, i say just use it

 

mhmm now that I've read a lot of posts and looked on google etc. Having the debit card + license I don't see why they wouldn't believe it's me!

Now to talk my brother into letting me order one from the dmv!

 

yeah you should be fine, unless you dont even look close to your brother lol... me and my friends always use this 1 drive through place and the lady is super cool and clueless.

Yea, but they wouldn't really be snatching it if they ask to see it so they can check the date etc. Because when I worked at a bank as a teller and people would try and show me the id in their wallet/purses behind that clear thing, every time I made them take it out and give to me.

I would not bother with a fake id. If you get caught, your in shit. Just wait. I didn't bother with drink until I hit 18 (legal age) so their would be no consequences.
