Ability to change your topic title

It is very annoying when you want to change your created topic title, and you always need to contact a moderator. Sometimes, you need to do it several times once your topic name gets changed.


In many various forums you can edit your thread title and it does not cause any issues, this should be allowed.

If you think this should not be allowed for everyone, atleast make it available for Donators only.

I don't think it should be allowed for everybody. If everyone could use it, it would be abused. Also you will get confused between which threads you have read and have not.

If you have donated money to the site you should be given this feature. It would prevent it from getting abused and increase the donations.

I'm sure only mods can do this because of the different classes on vBulletin and if it were changed then everyone would be a mod, if you get where I'm coming from?

Yes, but I think sometimes rules can be broken for the greater good. This seems a valid suggestion and unless I'm mistaken and there is a security issue with it I support.

 

I still don't think it's a good idea. Think of it as security, we check if the title is appropriate and then change it. Donors could abuse this.

 

It is not staff powers, everyone should be able to edit what they write.

There is no security issue, if it is a security issue, posts should not be edited too.

 

Mods are able to see earlier versions of edited posts, no?

Don't quite know how this would/could be implemented with thread titles.

It's not only annoying for us to pm them, they could also save time.

 

What? It IS staff powers. You're able to edit your own posts, but not your thread titles. Posts are different from titles. Like I said, donors could take advantage of this. I'm still a no.
