Making a mage pker need help

Ok so this is the first one I've made other than low lvl [ 20-30 accounts] since Runescape classic so obviously its completely different.

My questions are:

1. What defense should I have for a lvl 50-70ish mage
2. what is the fastest way to get to 85 magic
3. anything else I might need to know?

 

Your defense level is your own personal preference. 1 defense would keep you lower leveled, and make your magic more effective as you will be hitting high numbers on players with low health pools.

The fastest way would be air strike > confuse > weaken > curse > high alch to 85.

There's not many 'mage pkers' out there. Most 'mage pkers' are hybrids that will usually have some sort of melee or range to KO since mage doesn't have any burst damage. You might want to consider either leveling range or melee up as well, and using one of them for the ko.

 

Well, I personally think you should stay 1 defence.. for time being anyway. But that is my personal preference, this is solely for you to decide. The FASTEST but least cost effective way would be to cast teleport spells, then low level alchemy to 55, then high alch until 85. You will lose a coupious amount of GP doing it this way, as you would any other way. If you are a patient person, try getting 44 runecraft and make your own nats. This will save you millions, and you will make millions in the process.

Another method, that I'm not also familiar with would be to superheat iron bars? someone with more knowledge could explain.
