Sheild slot for a 1 defer????? (HELP)

Alright guys, so I've got a quick question.. So i've been doing a new pure project starting over from scratch. I've got a ton of quests done and im making significant progress. However, I've come accross a delima. I did Horror from the Deep quest a while back and I got the Unholy book without thinking. And after looking at the prices on GE for zammy pages... I CBA to spend 20mish on pages for the book.. So i guess my question is.. is there a certain replacement i can use? Like perhaps an Iron defender? Or something else maybe? Let me know PLEASE!

 

Iron Defender or Guthix book is your best bet. Or instead of a Guthix book you can fill out a Saradomin book then a Armadyl book which has better offensive stats than a Guthix and combined with the Saradomin is only a little more expensive.

 

I know but don't i need to fill out the zammy book before i can get another one?

 

I believe (Dont quote me on this) That you can give the books back to the guy and he'll let you choose another book.

 

How do i do that? I don't think i saw an option for that. I guess i can check it out though again. I just dont beileve so

 

No, I'm pretty certain that you need to fill the current book before getting another. Iron defender is garbage also, and you need to have 130 attack/strength combined to even get it. I'd say your best bet would probably be a iron shield.

Well as a pure you don't really have much choices.. I'd say stick with the damaged book for the +5 prayer bonus, or get an anti-dragonfire shield for the d bolts/dragonfire resistance. Iron kiteshield is pretty lame, and iron defender is just a waste of time.

Edit: ahh yes elemental shield works fine, just change it up depending on what you're doing

 

No iron defender wont do nothing...i would recommend elemental shield if range tanking or mage hybrid

 

unholy book is the best for pures IMO
because it gives attack/prayer bonus.

Unholy book>guthix book>iron defender>not sure lol

The zammy book really is a must have for 1 def pures, splash that cash!

 

Iron defender/guthix book, if you have the money zammy i guess. Honistly i'm pretty sure those are the only 2 things pures use, other than an iron kite.

Yeah. I don't mind spending the time for iron defender if it'll do at least something..but otherwise it'll have to be a damaged book because theres no way in hell I'm paying over 20m for damn pages

 

Just get an iron defender, it's worth the small amount of time.
