Voice Chats no proof?

I record all my Skype calls to protect myself, and if the voice chats can be correlated to the proper people, they're actually much better and harder to edit than chat logs and screenshots. Why was this rule implemented, especially with MSN being shut down and Skype being the new prominent source of contacting people?

You could be talking with any random, i'd be able to set up a scam record with a friend for example.

 

People can change their voices when talking and moderators aren't going to learn what everyone sounds like.

Yes, but I specifically stated that IF they can be correlated it should be sufficient proof. For example, if you recorded a call, and it correlated with a Skype chat that took place at the same exact time, and a person has a unique voice that the staff has heard before, it should be considered. Completely disregarding them as proof is wrong. As to the "people can change their voice" and "I'd be able to set up a scam record with a friend," people can also do that with text, much, much, more easily. They can also remove messages on Skype, edit messages, and even use Photoshop. Please show me how you can replicate my voice. Even the most advanced technology cannot do it perfectly.

 

Recording video proof with checking his/her Skype profile would work, as long as you have some sort of agreement.

 

It isn't hard to record someone's voice and edit out important bits of conversations and it is possible to use software to piece together bits of other conversations and modulate them. I mean it is going to take some time and quite some knowledge, but it also means that staff or at least certain staff members would have to be knowledgeable about recording.

Also there are legal repercussions if you record people without their consent first.

 

What if it were a video, you record the screen (showing the little icon of them talking) while recording the voice?

 

That could work out well, but the issue is you can edit the voice quite easily and this would be a good thing.

 

We won't disregard voice chats if a couple staff member can confirm the voices are undeniably those of the users in question.

You can't expect us to know everybody's voice, and that rule is in place for the majority of scam reports that would have been made.

EDIT: Think of it as the 1 month rule in the dispute section, a lot of exceptions are made in certain cases.

 

Why's this such a big deal. This would barely be used, since it'd only be for users who frequent wherever it is you guys talk. It wouldn't work for other situations because someone could just have someone else talk for them and act like it wasn't them. Like if you had a line or two they had to send in to compare voices, they could get their friend to do it for them.


Oh I think I know what you mean, like your friends who scam you and it's VIA voice chat? Like an agreement to something that you got on voice chat, I'd agree with that.
