[Verified] = means nothing. This one goes out to Kiabin.

I have recently purchased a guide from the verified section of Guide Sales.. and I have to say I'm deeply disappointed with not only the guide but the moderator who verified it.

Information about the guide:

1. It was an unbanning guide that promised 99% success rates
2. I have tried it on two accounts, both have been denied (proof if needed)
3. None of the information was tested by the morderator. It included various appeals for various offences.. but they didn't even fit in the appeal box, meaning there was no way this guy even tested his appeals muchless had any success with them. The guide included a number that you were supposed to be able to use to contact Jagex in hopes of an unban, should the appeals fail. The number didn't exist.

Now, I know it is an unbanning guide and such guides are hard to rely on anyway. I wouldn't entirely blame the guide maker on this one, although he did sell a knowingly false guide and now refuses to refund anybody (or at least.. he seems to refuse. He won't reply to my PMs, and won't reply to any of the negative comments on his thread).. but the mod (Kiabin) who verified this guide seriously needs to be brought to attention. I have also PMed him, which he has ignored, asking to please reconsider his verification of this guide (because there's absolutely no way he tested it, at all.) and to please urge the guide seller (Al ZingLing) to refund people.

I can send a mod/admin a copy of the guide if needed to review. You'll immediately wonder the same thing I did when I read it.. "Why the fuck was this verified?"

I too, noticed that thread. Looked at the reviews, you and 2 other people got their appeal denied. Most of the guides there are shit, verified or not. I've even noticed some of them are well-known methods, just combined into 1 guide. If you're going to verify atleast try it ingame. Not just look to see if the guide it well written and looks pretty.

 

Yeah. The guide in question is composed of a bunch of appeals that don't work obviously, a false number, and a widely known email method. People give out the email in RS2 General all the time. I've personally used it before I even bought this guide a number of times (with no success). This guide is basically a bunch of bullshit and should've never been verified.

 

In my opinion I don't think we should even allow unbanning guides and none of them even work.

 

I also bought this from him. He said if it doesn't work, he would refund me. I tryed contacting but no response.

 

Off topic, but I'd like to ask anyways why are unofficial guide verifiers allowed to verify guides? I'm pretty sure if they were fit for the job they'd be asked to become official.

 

I didn't have very high hopes but the fact the guide was verified persuaded me into buying it. I agree that unbanning guides shouldn't be allowed because I see now that it is really all just luck, and that all the methods to be unbanned are already freely available if you do a small amount of digging.

Kiabin is on the list of people who can officially verify guides. If that's not what you're referring to, then they aren't allowed and you should report their post as spam.

There's far too many free guides out there on how to unban accounts so this shouldn't have been verified in the first place.

 

Even still, the problem is that Kiabin "verified" it, and made people buy a completely false guide.

That sounds nice, but are you trying to defend Kiabin, who basically assured Mattjew that he would be unbanned, yet he wasn't, basically scamming him?

I feel like Kiabin should pay Mattjew back since Kiabin verified the guide by the guide seller and that is NOT their fault. So basically Kiabin scammed Mattjew.

 

So can someone pay us back? How will this work?

 

Markla, I don't feel like Kiabin should pay anybody back. I do feel as though he should be punished in some way, but paying people back is a little harsh. I do want a refund, but from the person selling the guide, not Kiabin.

Kiabin didn't scam Mattjew. If you'll begin to also make the verifiers responsible for what the guide includes, no one will any longer want to verify guides.

Right, you are 100% correct. But in this case, Kiabin didn't do anything of the above, basically made sure it looked pretty. I mean if he follows the correct format and such that you are supposed to do and does it correctly,it should be Verified. If not, no. And if its Verified after being successful, and the buyer did or did not do it correctly, it is not the verifiers fault. But it the verifier does not do any steps, says it's verified, then the buyer does it correctly and fails, it is the verifiers fault.

I thank you for adding unbanning guides to the list and archiving his thread... but if verifying guides is such a burden, you shouldn't have accepted the responsibility. It really isn't that hard to calculate things out before you actually test it to see if it's at all plausible, and if it is then you test it, and more often than not I'm sure you profit from it, whether it be a new training method, new money making method, etc.

No offense intended, I just don't like the way you put that.

The fact is, that many "money making" methods produces junk, or requires us to buy junk. It's not too easy to know if it's easy to sell or not.
