Reporting Posts

I believe this was suggested before, but I don't remember clearly.

Pretty much, just looking through one thread in SFA, on one page there's over 3 things to report. Only being able to report once a minute is pretty annoying. Why is it at a minute per report?

Pretty much what I'm suggesting is reduction of the time for reporting posts/Multi reporting if possible? If there's the same thing such as people just spamming in SFA, be able to report all the posts and have them taken care of at once.

 

Support for reduction, I think 30 second limit would be good, it would be same as for posts.

 

Well, if the posts to be reported are all on the same page, they're on the same thread, so you can just mention in one report that post #'s X, Y, and Z need to be looked at, and thus your report, in essence, becomes a multi-report.

As far as there being a limit to the amount of reports you can send based on the amount of time sent between each one, this restriction exists as an anti-flooding precaution. It's necessary so that the staff-side access point doesn't get flooded by some jackass with a petty vendetta against Sythe can't just issue dozens of reports in the span of a few minutes, which also helps make sure that the server load is well-distributed.

 

But that's more work for the staff then they already have. Just like multi-quote if it links to all of them, show the content, it would be faster and cleaner.

Even so, a minute per report is quite an extensive amount of time. 30 seconds would be much easier to deal with. If someone wanted to flood reports, I'm sure they could deal with it quite easily.

 

Pretty sure it's been brought up before and was denied on the premise of it straining the servers/flooding.

 

I feared that. Even so, it's annoying to have to wait a minute every report.

Those are two that I've found. Both were denied, but had support, so I would like to see how the rest of the community beside just the three that have posted so far feel about it.

In the end, though, a member of staff moved each of those to Denied Suggestions, so I'm assuming that that's what will happen to this one as well.

I understand it's more workload getting more reports for staff, but I don't see why they don't support this.. Even the suggestion of having a certain amount of posts which would reduce the chance of flooding was denied. I mean I guess if the staff is fine with just reporting the thread and us saying "needs to be cleaned" is fine with them, it works. But that puts so much more of a workload in my opinion.

 

If you need to play moderator more than once a minute you need to go outside and or get a life.

No support. I would much prefer to keep it contained to one report. I am ok with doing a tad bit more work on my end. Just as long as everything is mentioned in the report reason.

It really isn't much more than a few clicks on a mods end to get rid of a couple more things on the same thread, it's actually more work/more annoying to report several things on one thread separately IMO.

Well, that's fine then. If that's the case should we report the whole thread, or a post and include more details?

 

It's one minute because it's so easy to flood the system with crap. Just leave it as it is.

 

You can help us out a ton by reporting one post and then linking the rest in your report (if they're all on the same thread). We would really appreciate that

It's perfectly fine as long as it's all within the same thread & within a reasonable time frame - it makes it easier on us. You can always feel free to PM a moderator if there are multiple issues on one thread. I'll close this now
