Website DDOS Proof

*Note I don't know too much about this, but I do know enough so sorry if I said something stupid*

Just a wild thought but with all the money sythe earns why not buy the website a DDOS proof server so that it never goes down or rarely ever does. :idea: It is really annoying when the website is getting DDOS'd and you can't access it.

 

I agree. There are many vB Mods that can be found on vBulliten.org or what ever their website is that helps prevent this kind of stuff.

There is no such thing as a DDOS proof server. We just have to target those responsible and use a highly protected server (like I said though, none is completely safe/secure/protected).

That helps protect against DoSing.

 

There are already measures in place to protect against DDoS'ing, and the site isn't being DDoS'ed every time the site crashes - there are other problems that can affect the forums. I don't know what proportion of down-time is due to attacks, but I assume it's rather small.

Anyway, the site isn't down that often, and when it does go down, it's usually not for very long.

 

With the extent that this version is modified, i'm near definite that sythe has near the very best in security, and already implements numerous ways of preventing DDoS attacks.

 

I agreed it should be DDOS proof, but would that require a complete forum reset :huh:
