Doubt it, this is the first time I've heard about it happen. I don't see how it could have gotten permanently banned, was the buyer doing anything illegal on it?

It wouldn't make sense for jagex to ban accounts based on terms like this, because people do legitimately get hacked and get recovered some time later. Permanently banning all instances of accounts recovered after a certain time period would be unfair and definitely a poor means of handling the issue on Jagexs' part

 

I've seen a few of these threads in the past few weeks, but seeing as how strong account sales are I don't really think so. Jagex will have to make many more bans that what they are putting out now, I don't honestly think they can ever come up with a foolproof system to ban accounts RWTed and not ban many other legitimate players.

 

I've sold one of my main accounts 3 weeks ago and haven't had a problem getting it locked or banned. Perhaps you're just unlucky and were flagged. Sorry for your loss :/
