Been trying to acquire a high level main/ maxed account for a few days now, and anyone with half a brain can see that 9/10 threads are people cleaned at the duel arena looking to make some fast RSGP.

from what i understand, even if more than one person has the entire creation info/recovery information to an account, and the original creator with the original ip and anyone else submit an appeal, the original creator prevails.

I think by not curbing account sales on here, sythe is doing its own reputation grievous harm. My opinion is that staff could and should intervene and fix more stringent rules, or ban account sales outright.

Some will obviously disagree, but i think its safe to say that most people who are not scammers come to trade gp/items etc, and that if i took a sample of people who bought accounts , and 6 months later checked again, im sure a vast majority would find there accounts recovered.

I find it amusing how scammers still bother asking for RSGP when theyve "quit"

Why even allow account sales when ALL accounts are recoverable?

I think it only brings disrepute to the site?

    Anyone out there agree?

(Forgive the ranting tone but look at this from the viewpoint of a frustrated buyer like me)

[FYI :Id just avoid the damned trouble and buy it from video, but he doesnt have a high enough account for me yet.]

EDIT: obviously i made up this statistic

Understandable but if its such a problem then dont buy accounts. (I came to this forum when it was majorly used for SCAR and look how far its come) No need to ban account sales as a whole. Just make sure whoever your buying it from is legit because there are plenty of people who sell accounts with no intention of recovering it back.

Buying accounts on sythe and any other site is really sketchy.
I tend to just stick to buying/selling gold and buying/selling account upgrades and using the funds to level up my own main.

If you really want a main account from this site, find a trusted seller, pay the OMM fees (worth it), and never go first unless they are trusted.

Buying accounts will be a problem forever, since they are not meant to be traded and are quite heavily protected.

Never buy an account anywhere. I personally wouldnt buy accounts from viou either as he is not the original owner of any of them. Maybe, maybe if r2p/viou/any admin sells an account, I will certainly buy/bid on them.

if you're not buying from a trusted account seller, always get the OMM to do a recovery test with the details they provide. If they work, you can email jagex saying you have moved house and the new IP adress that you will be playing it on is *insert your ip here* and they will change it in their records.

= you can recover with ease if the owner manages to scam it back

I think there are a couple legitimate sellers that are more trustworthy than any other site you buy accounts from.. I'm sure most of the accounts sold to those sites are bought by little kids who have no idea how it works and just get recovered by the people that think they can win the paypal dispute.

NO rofl this doesnt even work. Ive actually had an account with a rare name recovered from me that i paid 800m for. a recovery test does do sht either. the original owner prevails all attempts to reclaim the account and writing to jagex doesnt do sht but waste your own time. here is just one of the emails i revived from jagex with their bs auto response:

Here’s the thing... based on the information your daughter has been supplying in her appeals, we don’t believe she created the account but rather it was passed to her at some stage from the original owner.

Based on the information we hold on our systems, alongside the information that is being submitted in her appeals – she is yet to prove us wrong.

Of course, we are very open to the fact that if of course she is able to provide us with evidence that links her to the creation of the account, we will see her back on the account.

Please pass this advice to your daughter:

“All you need to do is submit a successful password recovery request, proving you are the owner of the account, to reset a new password. It’s really easy to do, simply follow the appropriate instructions in the link provided.

What would help in your appeal would be to include:

    - Early passwords (the older you can remember the better)
    - Billing information (such as when, which method any transaction ID’s)
    - Contact details – this can be post code, email address, name etc
    - Creation details (where, when, which ISP)

For more advice on this, you can read Mod Hayley’s post on the forums called ‘Help Recovering Your Account’ – just follow the link J

Now here’s the important bit – we will always look to return the account to its original owner. This is the player who created it via our website. If you aren’t able to provide us with enough evidence to show that you created the account, we won’t be able to accept your appeals – so you need to provide as much information that you can remember. The older, the better.”

I hope this helps – should she continue to have her appeals denied after providing us with ALL of the information she can remember, then it would seem that we have decided that she didn’t create the account and it shouldn’t be returned. I would encourage her to enter all the information you have provided below into her next appeal – this is the only place it can be reviewed.

    Kind regards,

    Mod Abb

yeah thats what i thought. the original owner ALWAYS prevails. this guy is right.

also, i think they should ban accounts for RSGP, i know that video and maybe one or two other legitimate sellers use this method, but this would clear out 80% of the lazy scammers who plan to recover like 10 seconds after selling. Besides, bank transfers etc, require irl information that most scammers dont like giving out.

You are never 100% save buying one. Look for someone who has alot of vouches from selling them, and buy from him.

This is not entirely real, since many people is legit and in need of vouches.
Some, on the other hand, want to scam.
But most of them are trying to legitly sell their accounts.

Would say 98% but at least 2/10 people will attempt to scam you if they can.

Buying accounts is at your own risk to be honest, as most people have said try to buy from a trusted seller to avoid hassle.
