Doesn't look like it closed down due to lack of popularity. In fact, there's no mention as to why it closed down. I imagine Superman/n4no just didn't have time for it, so I wouldn't write off this suggestion just yet.

 

I could easily just throw one up right now but it's finding the cash to do it. We already have to ask gold sellers for GP for the tournaments we do etc. Unless people would be happy with whatever is raised by the tickets ofc.

 

Like I said, I be happy running one and adding 50M or so to whatever the tickets raise.

 

I'd be able to donate as well, and I know for a fact Abdel would love to help with donations. I'm sure there are others as well who would be happy to fund activities to keep sythe active.

What happened to the Lottery Superman used to do? Where you paid a certain amount of gp per ticket and it was held every week. I believe he said it would be started up again in the summer. Not sure though.

When you think about it though (just adding a new perspective), the person hosting it has to put in A LOT of effort for no reward to themselves. Firstly they have to find people to donate to it which is difficult at best and then selling tickets to everyone can be trouble also with people not having the right currency, etc.

If anyone reads this and is willing to do a lottery, go ahead with it! If you are un-trusted you could involve an omm that will hold the money, etc.

 

I'm willing to host one, would just need donations or something.

 

I'd be happy to help out with one when I get a bit more time, would be an interesting thing to get involved with if it took off (again).

Perhaps, to help displace the need for donations, there could be a higher buy-in per ticket. Such as 1M 07GP as opposed to the 20K that was being charged for Superman's. This would result in a larger pot for the winner, and so might encourage more purchases despite the price.

If a high price was a problem for some, there could still be a smaller lottery run alongside it, if necessary. Say, one with a 20K p/ticket buy-in, and another with a 1M p/ticket buy-in. Could run that for a few weeks and see which is more popular, then drop one if necessary.

Just throwing some ideas out there.
