    Rising prices due to Legacy

Hey guys. So with the introduction of Legacy, special attacks are going to return. They hope to reignite PvP etc..

So I had a thought.. Wouldn't items such as the AGS, D Claws, G-maul etc. rise massively due to the increase in demand for such special attack items in PvP?

    Share your thoughts, thanks :)

If the introduction of special attacks will make gp/items worth more, then smart people like you will anticipate this happening in advance and buy gp/items early in an attempt to make profit. They will continue to buy gp/items until it gets to a price where no more expected profit can be made. The price will then stay approximately the same, ceteris paribus, until legacy comes out. Note that this price movement typically happens almost instantly (or very very fast) after news of an update is released.

In other words, it doesn't matter. Any and all profit opportunity has already been exhausted. (Unless of course RuneScape players don't care about the future and aren't interested in profit. But, I doubt this is the case.)

The AGS has already capped out I feel like. I had 3 in my bank when I got em for 6m each, then sold em at 25m each :D.

But I see they're down to like 16m now, so I think Nike is right and they are exhausted already.

I think some items whip, ags etc are rising and the prices will fall when legacy is in the main game.

Bit late to the party eh :p

Rares have went down so I'd assume it's to do with people stocking up and freeing their cash for Legacy or something.

    You're always late!!!

Also, it's very likely the market is shifting due to players trying to stock up on items, but I'm questioning what items people are trying to buy. I'm only saying this as weapons and armor have a pretty tight cap on the G.E. (10 whips per 4 hours, 1 type of spirit shield per 4 hours, etc). They would have to have made a long-term investment on multiple accounts to stock up these items.

I don't see any point in trying to stock up on food or potions, however, as there is always a ridiculous supply of these items available. Furthermore, most players have the skill level to obtain such items themselves and shouldn't have an immediate need for these items in large quantities.

I'm interested to see how the market will continue to shift. Definitely keeping an eye on it (and I'm still working on purchasing a few items for when legacy will be released ;)).

All interesting points thanks for your thoughts.

However, AGS decreasing down to 16m.. ? They were a hell of a lot more than that pre-EoC. I know prices aren't going to go back to the same as they were pre-EoC but I think 16m is still too low.

And of course there are people anticipating the price rise, so they're stocking up which is causing an increase in price by itself... But, once Legacy actually hits us, people who didn't anticipate this price rise or just couldn't be bothered, will then have a higher demand for such items, causing a further increase due to a shift in demand?
